    Dizzying Drone Video

I don't know anything about videos, but the speed of the drone is incredible. Not sure how they accomplished its speed though - it isn't like they just speeded up the video.

    hark 2021

I haven't seen nearly as much wildlife this winter as I have during the past couple of winters. Fortunately today I saw this Red-Tailed Hawk. Both images are cropped quite a bit since this is the longest reach I've got right now.

I'm wondering how it ended. Did they both leave each other alone @wev ?

    Happy with your D500?

Walt, I went from the D7100 to the D7200 then to the D500. Both the D7200 and D500 have better sensors than the D7100, but the D500's sensor is even better than the D7200. The configuration of the top panel is different than what you have on the D7100 though. It lacks the mode dial for A, S, M...

    Editing Fog Photos

Thank you, Jake. Here is an unedited jpeg (only lens profile, straighten, default sharpening & noise reduction in Camera RAW). Even though I overexposed by +0.3 stop, this image is still underexposed. So are you saying everything above and below the horizon line is haze? And what I'm seeing...

    Editing Fog Photos

I know that option is there, but it just makes the photo look hazy rather than like fog. I didn't add any dehaze to mine - the fog in the background was present. It's just that all my legit fog photos look hazy. There has got to be something that can make fog look more wispy (if that's the term...

    March 2021 Monthly Assignment: Bokeh

"Bokeh" - a creamy or blurred background You don't need any type of special lens to create bokeh (an out of focus background). You have a few options to accomplish this. Macro lens - taken with a 105mm, f/10, 1/1000", ISO 800 No macro lens? No problem Just get close to your subject with...

    Editing Fog Photos

Can anyone recommend videos or suggestions on how to edit photos that already have fog in them? Every time I've attempted editing fog photos, they wind up looking like haze. There are a number of tutorials on how to add fog to a clear photo, but I haven't found one that will address...

    Who does Real Estate photography?

Allen's Camera had a Nikon 16-35mm f/4 lens in stock that was made in Thailand so I decided to get it. Its sharpness and contrast is definitely more pleasing than the Nikon 10-24mm DX lens that I wound up returning. Does anyone remember the TV commercial, I can't believe I ate the whole...

    Who does Real Estate photography?

I'm really not happy with this lens. My building photos seem to be a little soft compared to other lenses I use. Plus the contrast is significantly less, too. I'm going to return it and will simply use my 14mm and 18-35mm on my D750 instead for now. After learning more about real estate...

    Who does Real Estate photography?

I went out with this lens again today. This made me chuckle. ;) However, taking exterior building shots might be challenging. I didn't use a tripod today so wound up aiming upwards to photograph a few buildings. Granted that can be corrected in post, but I'd need a step stool and a really tall...

    Who does Real Estate photography?

Here are a couple of images taken with a preowned Nikon 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5 lens. I only had a short amount of time to be out shooting today so unfortunately I couldn't find any really nice architectural subjects for experimenting. Even when choosing the lens profile in Camera RAW, there was very...

    Struggling with white balance

I looked at your original image in Camera RAW. Take a look at the two red circles on the upper right. The white triangle on the left indicates your blacks are clipped. That means you have lost detail in those areas. Now look at the photo. The blue areas that are circled represent the blacks that...

    Who does Real Estate photography?

I'm interested in learning more about Real Estate photography. Obviously a wide angle lens is required as well as a tripod - I have the Nikon 14mm f/2.8 and the Nikon 18-35mm f/3.5-4.5G lenses and a tripod but am considering the Nikon 16-35mm f/4 instead of my other wide angle zoom. Any...

    Nikon 300mm f4 AF

If it is the first AF 300mm f/4 lens, I tried one. It's extremely sharp but is slower to focus than the two versions that came after it. It isn't compatible with a Nikon TC although it's possible an aftermarket TC might work. I think it has some type of drop-in rear filter.

    Post your Birds in Flight

And @wev you should be able to go here and navigate slowly though some of the subforums. The main link, the What's New tab, and other hyperlinks simply aren't working properly. https://nikonites.com/nikonites/#axzz6mJBh1LAl Or you can go here and scroll WAY down until you come to the main...
