If you press the 'i' button on the lower left, does the rear screen illuminate with information? Just wondering if the rear display itself might be having issues. If info shows up, then maybe the Play button isn't working correctly.

Yes, they call it the remove tool, but some people are promoting it as AI. Supposedly the work is done in the cloud so computers need to be online.

I will add one more comment ... after editing the above cove image, I closed out Photoshop. But right before I closed it out, there was a prompt if I wanted to save the changes. I clicked yes by mistake. Unfortunately I had just downsized this image for Nikonites and wound up saving the low...

My guess is if your Gmail is synced with Mac Mail, then you should be okay. Your Mac Mail is still checking the account regularly. Hopefully Google will send out an email ahead of time to let people know.
