The lens is a Sigma 70-300mm which has a Macro switch/lock for the 200-300mm range. Okay, Bill16, here goes nothing. It should be a lot bigger.

I have an old manual focus 105mm that I love for people and animal pics. Shot this with my FX D600 last night while having a beer on the back deck. He is a truly dirty dog. I had to keep adjusting exposure manually as the sun was setting. This was cropped in post.

I haven't seen anyone really discuss this great feature of the D600. It's so easy to use. ​I've learned it's best to switch the camera to manual focus once you get your shot set up (because the AF will make constant adjustments that are visible in the final footage). Also, for sunrise/sunset...
