    Ferguson, MO

I am strongly considering a road trip to Ferguson, MO after the Thanksgiving holiday. Just curious if anyone else would want to possibly meet up there? No, not to protest or anti-protest. I want to photograph. Yes, I am serious. I shouldn't have to tell you the physical danger you'd be putting...

    16th Century Superheroes

Sacha Goldberger - Super Flemish You may have seen this floating around the internet today. It's buzzworthy and viral because of the quirkiness, but as photographers, I think we can appreciate a bit more. The lighting in these is phenomenal.

    On Working for Free...

@PapaST I'm curious to read why you side with Oprah on this? I'm a big fan of the arts for art's sake. That is, local artists showing support for their local communities and performing for free at certain events. Charities, exhibitions, fundraisers and the like. But hell fire, even my small...

This forum only for Suggestions & Questions regarding Nikonites

Re: This forum only for Suggestions & Questions on Nikonites This is a common problem with every forum. New people don't read rules, sticky posts, FAQ's, or use the search feature. Blame Al Gore for inventing the internet in the first place. Most people just create an account and dive right...

5 Day Black & White Challenge

Challenge accepted. That's a great pic also, @Marcel. The detail in the face is awesome, and is one of the reasons why I love B&W over color!

    Nikon D300s Matrix problem

Hopefully someone else will be along to offer up a 2nd opinion, but it sure looks damaged to me. The AF point is fine, I'm not worried about that. But your LCD display definitely looks backwards. Let's see if we can get some other gurus in here... @fotojack @BackdoorHippie Don Kuykendall...

    Guns in HS Senior Photos

On the heels of the Protecting yourself thread, comes this news story: Nebraska school lets students pose with guns for their yearbook photos WARNING: This is a very left-leaning article. I live in a rural area where hunting is just part of life, and I have photographed several seniors...

Senior Portraits - the things you do when you're an Uncle

Nicely done, Jake. Portrait work is difficult, but rewarding. Difficult because sites like Pinterest put ideas in client's heads that aren't always good. They see something online and think, "Oh I like that, I want to do that!" And it usually involves chairs in the weeds or some crazy homemade...

    My logo

2nd one is much better for sure. 2 fonts is fine, but 3 is too much. If the vehicle is going to be a focal point (that pun never gets old) of your business, have you considered incorporating it into your logo? A little Jeep going up the side of a mountain for example.

Starting a serie - first image

What is the goal of this project? What is the message you are trying to convey? This isn't a shot at you, @wud, so don't take it that way. I'm just highly critical of project-type work. What I see is a couple who looks pissed off at having their picture taken. The message I see here is, "we've...
