    Goji Adventure Backpack

I just picked up what I think is an awesome new camera bag for £29.99, a Goji Adventure. I bought it from PC World/Currys but hadn't seen it in store before and I can't find it listed anywhere online either which is curious. Anyway it has lots of room for gear, I just fit two bodies, one with...

    Post your favorite August shot

August was all about red squirrels for me, this was my favourite shot. Yesterday I gave a framed 8x10" print to my Dad for his 67th birthday.

New to Light Room --> What would you do as post production ?

This is a quick edit doing those things I mentioned. Think its overdone a bit and would be better if working from the original raw file. I would actually bring the colours back a bit. A crop would also help as shown above.

How about a 'funny' wildlife thread?

Not "wild" life as such but still funny I think. Upside down photo bombing

Elliot's as often as I can...

I spent my birthday at Edinburgh Zoo. Lots of shots in dim light and through glass and wire but I'm happy with the shots I managed to get. This tiger photo is probably my favourite.

Elliot's as often as I can...

My job is to ensure these little guys continue to exist in Northumberland. Unfortunately that means a lot of grey squirrel trapping and I don't get much chance to stop and photograph the reds. Today I got to spend a couple of pretty special hours watching these reds at a local country park...

    Post your favorite July shot

I didn't get out with the camera much in July, so not many to choose from but I like this one best.

Elliot's as often as I can...

I think this had the potential to be an exceptional shot but I was definitely the limiting factor. I love the back lighting and the composition with the steps but in the dim light I was really struggling to manually focus and I don't think this is as sharp and in focus as it could be. I think my...

Elliot's as often as I can...

Went on a short trip to the North Pennines AONB (area of outstanding natural beauty) today but didn't take a single landscape shot. Did find some possible spots to go back to when the light will make for an interesting shot. Here's a few random shots from the day, starting with some Llamas...

    55mm f/2.8 AI-s with a teleconverter?

@mikew the only extension tubes I have don't have electronic connections so I can't use them on my 70-300mm. I suspect that the IQ with the 55mm and 2xTC would be much better than what I would get with the 70-300mm, on its own the 55mm is far sharper as I think you can see from the 3 shots...

    55mm f/2.8 AI-s with a teleconverter?

I love my 55mm but for photographing insects like butterflies but it really isn't long enough. As a result I've been thinking about getting a Sigma 105mm or Tamron/Tokina equivalents. But is this one situation where I have a shortcut that will save me lots of money and not leave me disappointed...
