UPDATE #2 I have just restarted my PC again after finishing tidying up my PC after all the preceding carry-on, deleting unwanted screen images etc and emptying the trash can and blow me down, contrary to the final sentence in my previous post #15, the camera is now visible in File Manager...

UPDATE The problem has been resolved after a tip from Russ Beuker of ControlMyNikon.com, a company that offers camera automation tool software and for whom I had done some beta test reports. When hearing of my problem, he mentioned an issue with a USB driver installed by another camera...

I also use Infinity Photo and what is becoming really concerning for me now is that sooner or later Adobe is going to come along with their big fat cheque book and make the Canva, owners of Affinity software, an offer that can't be refused - and we all know where that will end. :mad:

Thanks for your input @BF Hammer. I didn't make it clear enough earlier that the reason I tether the camera is not only for the live view on a big screen for focussing, but I use Helicon Remote software to actually control the camera from the PC and the most important aspect is that when focus...

My Dell PC is an all-in-one model @Needa so no separate monitor, the old laptop is tucked away in the corner out of the way and I can use my PC normally.

Thanks Needa. apart from two other Windows machines having no problem with the camera, the most frustrating aspect of this is that this PC in question acknowledges the camera with a 'ding' when it's switched on- as the Dell tech confirmed - but then just ignores it! <grrrr>.

Another test as I get used to my new kit. Using the Sigma 105mm macro lens, this is an 8 shot stack of my late wife's rings.

I am still getting used to the camera Needa and as this lens was already fitted and as the camera was already on the tripod, I thought 'why not?' It was a good test for both and I'm very pleased with the outcome. I love the Sigma 105 macro lens and I still use it a lot on other makes of camera...

Thanks. I'm enjoying using the software, however, I am having a bit of bother trying to 'switch off' the PS menu structure in my head and absorb the Affinity one, which can be very frustrating as there isn't room for both these days, but I will persist.
