Let's be careful out there folks

Discovered this in my new boots this morning. Not to worry, this species is Thamnophis Gummis. More commonly known as the rubber snake. The Pup was trying to have a little fun with me. There will be retaliation.

    Danno's 2023 Who Knows When

If you do a lot of denoising (Is that even a word?) of your photos, I would highly recommend getting Topaz Denoise, or their trio of Denoise, Sharpen and Gigapixel, if you haven't already.. I've been using them for about a year, and couldn't imagine post processing without them. I could probably...

    Nikon Z 180-600mm f/5.6-6.3 VR

Well, I tried B&H and it was $150 less than KEH.

    Nikon Z 180-600mm f/5.6-6.3 VR

I watched the above posted review of it today. He gives a lot of comparisons to the 200-500 I currently have and use with the FTZ. Sounds like it is an upgrade in terms of VR, AF, weight, zoom ratio and build quality. On the other hand it is not a big upgrade in terms of sharpness. As a wash, my...

    Nikon Z 70-180mm f/2.8

Sorry, I didn't have my sarcasm emoji handy.

    Nikon Z 180-600mm f/5.6-6.3 VR

I'm glad I switched. Of course, I was dealing with an entry level crop frame DSLR, and went to the entry level full frame. Still, there are a lot of features the mirrorless has that the DSLRs just don't have. When I bought my Z5 the biggest issue was the lack of affordable telephoto lenses...

    Nikon Z 70-180mm f/2.8

Yeah, but that extra 20mm is a killer.

    Nikon Z 180-600mm f/5.6-6.3 VR

I love my 200-500 F mount on my Z5, but would love to have a native mount long tele. I see they have a 70-180 F 2.8 coming out as well.

It's funny, I can stand in the open door of an aircraft at 1,000 ft off the ground and stick my head out into the slipstream without fear. Get me above 2 floors on a ladder, or edge of a building or cliff, and my knees turn to jelly.

OK, looking at it more closely, I guess the message count is actually the post count. I guess the only way would be someone joining, but never posting anything.

Here's a few of a red shouldered hawk that lives in my neighborhood. Not the best of backgrounds, but it's where they live. This is one of the residents that isn't happy they live here. I used the new remove tool in PS to get rid of the distracting mailboxes in the foreground of this one.

I suppose that these are the folks that join with a specific question. After getting, or not getting an answer they never visit the forum again. This is a pretty common practice.

Well, apparently, my daughter isn't interested in my Z5.

Let's be careful out there folks

Well, actually the point was that it is almost certain that I was never bitten by a snake. There was doubt the first time that it was a snake bite, but seemed to fit the situation. Since I had exactly the same symptoms nearly two weeks later, with little to no chance I was bitten this time, I...

Let's be careful out there folks

Well, it looks like I wasted my money on the snake boots. Yesterday I was mowing the backyard and had the exact same thing happen to me, although not quite as badly. Little to no chance I was bitten by a snake. Also it happened in exactly the same place. I have a doctors appointment Monday to...

Looking for a possible upgrade for daughter's D5600

Unfortunately, that would end up being an effective 36-180 on her DX camera. I have gotten her FX lenses for upgrades for macro and tele, but for a normal zoom, I really think I should stick to a DX to preserve the wide angle end. If she were into wildlife photography, I would get her the D500...

"Dad, why won't my lenses fit on the new camera?"

Looking for a possible upgrade for daughter's D5600

Well, I've tried to introduce her to the mirrorless side of the force, but she is currently adamant about no mirrorless camera for her. Like her mother, I know when to put my foot down, and when to walk away. FWIW I usually win the foot down situations, but there is always figurative bloodshed...
