Spoonbill parent and two "teaspoons". (Full disclosure, I used some Lightroom tools to remove a small brach that was in front of the parent bird)

This Roseate Spoonbill parent had its bill tucked up under its wing and wanted to get a little sleep, but there was so much commotion from all the nests and young birds of many types in the area, sleep couldn't come easily.

From this morning in Colorado

I was walking next to a pond in Orlando Wetlands, and an Anhinga popped its head up from the middle of a maze of aquatic vegetation with a fish speared on its beak. Down the hatch it went.

Some birds do this to cover their food so others don't get to it, but I've never seen a Jay do anything like this. Interesting.
