I have not noticed that depot for decades now. All of the railroad tracks through Sauk City and Prairie du Sac have done the "rails to trails" conversion and are actually paved in asphalt now. The old rail bridge across the river is removed, but a decent eagle watching location now. I guess...

Is there a type here? D700 is a full-frame model and the 18-55mm lens is DX. You would be shooting in crop mode 27-78mm equivalent. Makes a lot more sense if the camera is a D7000, but a D7200 would be far more preferable for only a little more money on used market. Really you are bidding on...

Trying to understand here. You must update firmware to use CFExpress? And you are putting the firmware file on that new CFExpress card to write the new firmware (which is required to allow the card to be ready)?

Also investigate your Z8 picture controls. I think "Charcoal" "Binary" gets you fairly close to being the pen and ink style.

Try inverting to a negative image and it will look like an ink-engraving. I remember doing one of those back in high school art class.

Only thing to impress is this is shot with a nearly 50 year old 500mm mirror lens handheld.

07-05: A little bored this afternoon, did an almost 50 year old lens challenge. Fixed my 500mm f/8 Reflex lens to the Zf and attempted some wildlife in the back yard. Only a robin played along. Manual focus handheld on a songbird is no minor feat.

I am going to be under rain clouds most of the weekend. But there have been significant corona mass ejections happening this week and it could be beneficial to be ready to go to a darker sky location and photograph aurora. Even when you cannot see anything with the bare eye, camera sensors do...

On 6-22 I revisited the Whitewater railroad depot at lunchtime. Worked the other side.

I watched this video last weekend. It is from the perspective of photographing auto racing, but I think the basic ideas can apply to other situations. A zoo comes to mind.

Were you looking for the right angle to be on the camera or the iPad end? There are USB-C right-angle adapter connectors that can be added. Doubt the mini connector ever had a right-angle version.
