    Looking for lens advice

Ken Rockwell rates it very high. Here is a link to his comparison of Nikon's full frame midrange zooms in the Z flavor. Midrange zoom comparison

Tough choice, they are all very good. I suppose #3 would be it, if I had to choose. Love the soft texture look of the water. I have had a few shots that had something similar, although very different colors since there were cypress trees on the shore, so no fall leaf colors.

    Clovis' Nikon Nuggets

Well, the Pup and I got up in the middle of the night and drove an hour and a half down to the boneyard beach this morning. The right tides only occur once every 2 weeks or so. There was some rain forecast, but we took a chance on it not being hard enough to interfere. We got down there about...

    Dark shots

I'm a little confused. I know, normal for me. All the pairs of images were taken in program (auto) mode. The lighter ones have several stops more exposure. They are the same scene, and taken seconds apart, with no exposure compensation on any of them. You say you changed the ISO to get the...

Help me Please with my camera

No, it should be easier to sell to a company. The down side is that you probably won't get as much for it, but you won't have to advertise it and deal with people trying to get it for far less than it's worth. Not to mention the issue of meeting a complete stranger with a somewhat high dollar...

F Mount Lenses on Z Camera

I've never had an issue with my F mount lens on my Z5 and Z7ii. I would say that if you are looking to buy new lenses, look hard at the Nikon Z mount versions. They are definitely a cut above. The biggest gaps I see are the lack of some of the more popular focal lengths in affordable models. For...

Help me Please with my camera

You might try talking to a used camera company like MPB or KEH and explain what you have and see what they could do for you with a trade. Of course, you need to be sure it's an IR conversion. You probably won't get as much from selling it to one of these companies, as opposed to selling it...

Help me Please with my camera

If it is an IR conversion, I would think you would be better served to sell it and purchase another. I don't know much about IR converted cameras, but I believe they go for a premium compared to full spectrum models. You say you believe it has a filter on it. What is the filter, and have you...

    Clovis' Nikon Nuggets

The Pup and I went out to Magnolia this morning. Not much happening. The birds weren't around much, insects were mostly gone except for a few bees. I had to resort to some "tourist" shots like this one. I did have a little anole poke his head out to see what I was up to. I channeled the...

Post your Bees in Flight photos!

I was surprised I got this one in focus. Usually, it's just a fuzzy bee. I was sizing up this hibiscus blossom for a pic, and this bumblebee just flew right in. Man those Hibiscus flowers are tough to get a natural look to the color. This was as close as I could get.

    Signs, signs, everywhere there

Actually, it's been a great year for mosquitoes. On the other hand, it's been a bad year for those of us having to put up with the mosquitoes.

I just remembered I have a couple slides of it. Turns out it was in 83. BTW, that's 1983, not 1883.

    Post your men/ladies at work

I remember being in Athens back in the 80s. We were walking down the street and there was a construction site where they were excavating a skeleton. Just another day in Athens.

    Post your men/ladies at work

I've worked as a volunteer on a number of archaeology projects. In those, everyone worked hard. Well, almost everyone. Fortunately, most of them were underwater, so heat was only a factor when on the boat. I would imagine it would be hard to dig anywhere in a town in Europe without running...
