Here is the link to the 2026 winners. The page has low resolution versions on the page, click on it and higher resolution image pop up. I believe you can access it without being logged in as a member. FYI, tier 1 is for professionals, and those who have won 1st place in a category or higher, or...

    Woody's Hermosa Luz 2026

I like that you took a common bird, that most of us ignore when out shooting unless it for tracking practice, and do a great job of making the image look special.

    Clovis' Nikon Nuggets 2026

Things were a little crowded people wise at Cypress Gardens today. I forgot it was a holiday when I decided to drive over there. That kept the wood ducks further back up in the more wooded sections of the swamp. A pair did come out a little before it closed. Managed to grab a few.

    Woody's Hermosa Luz 2026

Beautiful work, as always. I'm just glad you aren't a member of the CNPA. I would never win anything in the Member's Choice contests.

Here is the Pup's Member's Choice winner: And this was her entry for the "altered reality" category for the PSA contest.

Gap behind memory card cover door

I looked at pictures of the D610 online. Not many showed the card cover door clearly, but the few that did had what appeared to be the same gap. Maybe someone who owns a D610 will chime in.

    Mirrorless in 2026, maybe!

I try and be very careful to keep the camera pointed down when changing lenses. I also try not to change them in the field, if I can help it. I had to clean my Z5 and Z7ii many times. Often, just a few puffs from a squeeze blower would do the trick, but all too often I had to get out the swabs...

Well, you've seen mine before, but here it is. We also had a "print" competition which sends prints to a multi organizational contest with the PSA (no , not the test at the urologists!). It was last minute and the Pup and I scrambled to print a few images that hadn't been submitted for the...

The Pup and I are heading to the CNPA convention tomorrow.

Just got back. The Pup got an honorable mention in the "Small Stuff", macro, category. I got a 3rd place in the same category, although we were in different tiers, so there was no direct competition. I felt that the image I won with was actually one of the weakest of the images I submitted. My...

The Pup and I are heading to the CNPA convention tomorrow.

Well, I just got a text from a friend that was attending the pre convention presentations today. He said that both the Pup and I had winners. We'll find out tomorrow what they were. We both had multiple entries.

One of the highlights is the "Members Choice" contest. It's an annual contest among the Carolina Nature Photographers Association members where the members vote on the images. We have around 1,000 members in 13 chapters throughout North and South Carolina. The amount of talent is awe inspiring...

    Viltrox compatibility

Back when I was younger, and still had hair, cameras were simpler. I had no qualms at all buying 3rd party lenses. Money was tight, and there was no such thing as firmware updates. Now, I have decided not to take chances and buy 3rd party. I'm not bashing those that do buy 3rd party, it's just...

    Clovis' Nikon Nuggets 2026

Well, this bird has been on my bucket list. When a small flock of them flushed and flew off, I got some shots from too far away. I thought at first they were loons. After getting home and getting a better look at them on the computer, and with a little help from a friend, I now believe they are...

I see Nikon hasn't bricked the Viltrox yet. Great lens choice and subsequent composition.

    Clovis' Nikon Nuggets 2026

Like I said, there were lots and lots of ibises. And this guy keeping an eye on things. I took several shots of this with different focus points, but PS couldn't make head or tails of it in a focus stack, so I just erased the out of focus moon, and copy and pasted the in focus.
