    Hark's 2025

Last year I attended a falconry event where I volunteered to take photos (I started doing that back in 2021). On my way there, I passed an event with people dressed in Indian attire complete with headdresses. After finding out it is an annual event, I put a reminder in my phone and attended this...

lens that work with D90 and D3500/D3200

Yes, your lenses will work with it. It uses the same sensor as the D500 but lacks some of the advanced features the D500 offers (i.e. faster buffering as well as other amenities). However, the D7500 only has 1 card slot. Your D90 only has 1 card slot, but the other D7x00 series have 2 card...

lens that work with D90 and D3500/D3200

Going from a D90 to a D3x00 or D5x00 really isn't an upgrade. As @BF Hammer mentioned, the only lenses that will auto focus are going to be AF-S lenses because the others lack the auto focus motor. Something in the D7x00 series would be the next step up from a D90. The D7x00 series allows the...

Creative Live not accepting new members by May 8th

Creative Live will no longer allow new members to sign up for an account starting May 8th. The company changed hands a while back but is supposed to allow current members full access to the classes they purchased. And new content will only be available to those with an account. I've learned a...

    ChatGPT Action Figures

Did you have to reedit the images it produced? That's what caused problems for me. It wound up changing my face so much from its original creation. These look good!

    ChatGPT Action Figures

AI definitely seems to be making improvements. I remember when 6 fingers was the norm with AI.

    ChatGPT Action Figures

I jumped on the bandwagon to create an action figure of myself. This was the first result it created. Although I tried to go in and make a few changes (all of these tend to yield rather chonky bodies), it completely changed the face/hair and wound up with a less desirable action figure. The...

I have the Nikon 16-35mm f/4 VR and really need to make more use of it. My Nikon 18-35mm f/3.5-4.5G lacks VR but is incredibly lightweight with tack sharp images. But it isn't weather sealed. I don't think I've used it since getting the 16-35mm. The extra 2mm on the wide end does make a difference.

    Godox V860II-N TTL Flash

In the past, @Scott Murray posted a macro flash diffuser he made. I don't have time to look for the posts right now, but hopefully I'll have time later today or tomorrow. The examples he shared while using it turned out amazing.

    Godox V860II-N TTL Flash

As with any flash units, try to allow time between flashes so the unit doesn't overheat. But macro shouldn't take full power flashes so you should be fine. Repeated full power flashes is another way to overheat a unit. If you are able to learn manual flash, that will be the most consistent...

    Godox V860II-N TTL Flash

I have that one as well as the one Clovishound mentioned. The V860II-N works great, but its battery swelled which made me have to buy a replacement at $39. That flash hadn't been used a lot either; however, I was told swelling is caused by humidity. The thing is I run the AC during the summer so...

    Newbie question

Check out the Nikon Teleconverter Compatibility Chart. According to this, there are limitations with that lens when coupled with the TC-14EIII. https://www.graysofwestminster.co.uk/pdf/products/AF-S-teleconverter-compatibility.pdf

Post your favorite March 2025 shot

My long exposure really captured my interest. I am looking to take more long exposure images but for longer lengths of time than just 1-second. I used a 10-stop Neutral Density filter for this so have a lot of leeway to lower my ISO and increase my shutter speed. This was taken during an...

W O W! This is absolutely gorgeous, Peter! How does the DX Tokina lens perform on the D610? Other than some vignetting, do you find the images are really nice? I remember Don Kuykendall used to say how much he liked using Tokina lenses.

    Hark's 2025

The Burges-Lippincott house in Fallsington was built around 1808 for the Lippincott family. One of the family members was a doctor who addressed the needs of families living nearby. Last I knew (several years ago), I'm pretty sure someone was renting part of the house.

    Hark's 2025

Today once again I set out for Tyler State Park after seeing someone on Facebook post a photo of Mill Dam ... the same dam that was supposed to be removed back in 2023 (I made reference to that in one of my previous posts). Although I was able to see the dam from an elevated level, I couldn't...
