    Post Your Landscape Photos

This thread hasn't been used in a long time. Here's a photo from yesterday. I opted to use my D500 paired with my 24-120mm f/4 to give me a field of view of about 35-180mm. That way I didn't need to carry/change two different lenses. Not sure if I'm going to start a new thread for this year...

So I'm curious as to what happened to your Z6iii and Z50ii. Do you still have them? I never felt the need to upgrade to mirrorless. My D750 and D500 are my main choices although occasionally I add my D610 and D7200 to the rotation. Looking forward to seeing your D750 photos after you receive...

I'm still using DSLR bodies. So out of the bodies I have, my D750 will yield the best night photos. First I need to learn how to use the star tracker! As for lenses, I have a 14mm f/2.8 but might try my 16-35mm f/4 since Erik mentioned a slower lens can be used with along with a lower ISO. Or I...

    Post your latest purchases.

Three or four days ago, Erik Kuna (who works for KelbyOne) posted on Facebook about using a Star Tracker. Although my area has a lot of light pollution, I've wanted to give one a try for a while now. So I asked which one he recommended. He mentioned a kit, but I opted to purchase the items...

    Rain cover

I have used both the Think Tank Emergency Raincover and the Lenscoat Raincoat. I like them both for different reasons. The Think Tank has a clear plastic window to see the back of the camera body while protecting it from rain. However, I'm not a fan of the clear plastic window because it isn't...

Stretching a little for me in editing

I'm not quite sure about this vignette either. To me it almost looks like the bird is backlit rather than having a vignette on the image. That said ... I really like red-winged blackbirds! In college, one of the extra credit assignments was to watch a video which discussed this bird. Scientists...

No, I believe that is an added cost and not included with the software John is using.

Post your favorite April 2026 shot

Mine is a tossup between these 2 images. Two years ago I came across them publicly performing. However, they had just finished their performance. Last year and this year I was invited back to photograph them again. They are Mexican Aztecs – some of whom travel from Mexico to Pennsylvania (USA)...

    FX - DX confusion

When a 70-300mm DX lens is used on a DX body, your field of vision will be 1.4x greater than 70-300mm ... so the image will appear as being taken with a field of view of 98-420mm (the comparable viewing range of an FX body). That's because a DX body is a crop factor body. It's field of view is...

How to stack multiple portable hard drives

I usually run at least 2 at a time ... and sometimes 3. For now, I've just left them sitting on the computer table taking up space that I wish I could use for other things! 😄

    Post your cell/smartphone phone photos!

Today I purchased an iPad at an Apple Store in New Jersey. While at the mall, I decided to walk around. When I saw these mens underwear, I briefly wondered if they were made by Adobe Photoshop! 😄 Seriously ... the thought crossed my mind! Wouldn't these be a perfect Father's Day gift for the...

    D810 will not power on

Try this reset. I used this for an issue with my shutter button that was having difficulty autofocusing after being out in a snow storm. It worked perfectly and resolved my issue. It's helped others with different problems, too...
