Your photo is good. This is just editing now. Here is what I pulled back from the photo. I could probably do more with the raw file.

    First Night Shot D600

Leaving for Yellowstone and had planned on shooting some Milky Way photos. However, the weather does not look like it will be cooperating. I did rent a Tokina 16-28 for the purpose of shooting the stars and figured since I had a clear night for the first time in a long while I might as well try...

Day 47 Went for a walk this morning in the park before the sun was up and over the mountains. Heavy overcast as well so I had to crank up the ISO to ~600 on my D7100. Can't complain, not too much noise all things considered. Didn't hurt shooting with a Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8. Oreo, the cat...

    Michael's 50mm 1.8g on the D5100

Michael, you have some great street portraits. If I may suggest, cut down all that extra at the top. Too much dead space above their heads that's adding nothing. I cropped the image down to an 8x10 from the 8x12 format.

Day 46 - Flower Finally had a moment to sit down and actually take a nice photo. I think it was some kind of a Lilly. The petals are a creamy off white with a hint of yellow.

Day 45 - In your face Don! The other day Don posted a photo to the effect of what it looks like in 60°+ F temps. Well in your face Don. We posted a temperature 200 degrees higher than your measly 60. Can't wait to see how warm it will be when the sun rises.

Day 44 No great photo, just a "What the heck was going on here anyway?" I was walking across a field when I came upon these road lines. There is no road nor has there ever been one here.

Day 43 - Abstract Not my cup of tea to do, but I want to try new things. Good or bad, here it is. Rain drops on a windshield shot with my Tamron 90mm at an angle on an angled back window of my daughters Camaro.

    Moab Man 2014 Project 365

Haven't had time to really play with it, but I can say the usable range for ISO is pushed considerably higher. Here is a quick shot using a 50mm shot with plenty of bad lighting to really make noise evident. No editing, a straight chunk pulled out of a raw file. D600, 50mm, ISO 2200 And a...

    Moab Man 2014 Project 365

Not to interrupt the deepness, but here is Day 42. Nikon D600 for Milky Way photography. Now I know there is the whole dirty sensor issue, but I also know its an overblown issue (unless you're the one affected) after much research. Additionally I have three cameras and am not in the position of...

Day 41 - Robin Maybe its the coming spring, or the touch of warmer weather, but the birds were out chirping today. Unfortunately I couldn't get any shots on the little song birds as they were buried in the branches. However, this Robin was happy to sit up high and sing.

Anyone using Tokina ATX AF 16-28mm f/2.8 Pro FX

Looking for anyone to give personal feedback on having used this lens. I have the Tokina 11-16mm DX model which in my opinion is outstanding, but I need a wide angle for my D600 and hope that lightning has struck twice at Tokina. Please, personal experience comments only and not from the...

Day 40 - Snow Shoes For our upcoming photography trip through Yellowstone. Picture actually turned out pretty good; came from my phone. Maybe I will just get rid of all this Nikon stuff and carry a phone. Hmmm....

    Yellowstone in Winter Questions

Looking to get input from those that have went to Yellowstone in winter to photograph nature and animals. 1. What did you do? 2. How would you do your trip differently? 3. Anything I should know in planning my trip? I know my questions are pretty broad and vague, but I really don't know...

    Moab Man 2014 Project 365

And the last for Day 39 We heard and tracked down through the night a couple of Great Horned Owls. The one flew off before I could get a shot. When I shot this it was nothing more than a black silhouette. However, in raw I could pull out details that I never imagined possible. Granted, it's not...
