    First REAL snowfall this year.

We were fortunate to get a bit of snow for Christmas, but today was our first day of real snow - photo opportunities! The park behind my house provides plenty of great areas to shoot.

    Moab Man 2014 Project 365

It's not easy being one of the beautiful people, so I did a selfie and uglied myself up. :) Actually, it was more of a bit of playing with the flash, lighting, and photoshop just for grins.

    Moab Man 2014 Project 365

My lovely wife sitting with a different backdrop. What I'm enjoying most is that my wife has never liked photos of herself... at all. So far I'm hitting a perfect game as she loves both photos.

    Playing with a new backdrop

Tried out this new backdrop. I like it and it looks better through the camera than it does with your eyes so that was a pleasant surprise.

    Learning my new equipment.

@skene I've been shooting this type of photography for a while using flashes and umbrellas, but the precise control with the Elinchrom combined with a softbox is really sweet.

    Learning my new equipment.

@Deezey That's the funny thing, my D7100 is gripped and the D600 is not. Yet, like you said on getting so focused, I didn't even realize I had the wrong camera. I even shot from the grip without it registering. When it did I just busted out laughing at how focused I was on the lighting. The...

    Moab Man 2014 Project 365

Been crazy busy getting my studio setup with zero camera time. While still a ways from being complete, I finally got to a point I could shoot something and for that something I dragged my lovely wife to the stool so I could shoot her... with the camera. :)

    Learning my new equipment.

Been working on getting my studio set up. Cleaning, floor laid, and lights set up. While it is not complete, I couldn't wait to at least get something shot with some of the new gear. This is the starting photo. One Elinchrom 400w with a white reflector shot on my D7100 at ISO 100 on my Tamron...

This girl is going to grow up to be a looker and a nightmare for the father when she is old enough to date. :)

    My latest puzzle

I haven't done a puzzle in years and I can tell you I was seriously rusty. Previously, I cut 12 piece puzzles out of standard size postage stamps, put them in match boxes and gave them away as gifts. Tonight it was hard enough to cut a puzzle piece the size of a postage stamp LOL. I guess that...

    Most expensive photo ever

Wow! Quite the scathing rebuke on a Peter Lik photo. Thoughts? The $6.5m canyon: it's the most expensive photograph ever – but it's like a hackneyed poster in a posh hotel | Art and design | The Guardian

    Big City Dreams

Thank you @mikew Trying to expand what I shoot and learning so much that I never thought about. For example, the posed shot with the same little girl leaning against the pole - never occurred to me that at that age their arms are not proportionally as long as they are in their teenage years...
