I purchased this pistol grip to mount my Godox AD200 and use handheld. https://www.amazon.com/fantaseal-Stabilizer-Flashlight-SelfieStick-Compatible/dp/B01FUEXLGU/ref=sr_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=pistol+grip+for+ad200&qid=1618102675&s=electronics&sr=1-4

    Post Your Lensball Photos!

This looks interesting. Amazon sells a combo package with the 80mm Lensball and a suction cup tripod mount. Obviously the tripod head isn't included, but the first image gives an indication of how it works. Plus the combo price is less expensive than buying the two items separately. The tripod...

    Property Release

Over in one of the Facebook legal groups, I asked what was required to photograph private historic properties (privately owned homes) for the wall calendar I'm going to create. I was told I need a property release which is supposed to be similar to a model release. Any suggestions on websites...

    Soccer Photography Question

I'm looking to create a couple of different effects. Photoshop Elements used to have this built in as an easy method (rather than doing it manually). I still have Elements 10 on this PC so might give it a go. It's called the Pop Out Effect. Here is an image from...

    Soccer Photography Question

A neighbor has two kiddos who play soccer (different age groups), and since their family has been helpful with snow removal during the winter, I told them I'd like to take soccer photos. There are multiple fields side-by-side so the only access would be from one end where one of the goals is...

    hark 2021

While I was at the park today, I took a few memorial bench photos. These images are for the families who have lost loved ones. I share them in a Facebook group dedicated to memorial benches. Originally I was headed to the 2nd bench pictured below, but a couple of high school girls got there...

    hark 2021

I took this first photo the other day while testing out my 300mm lens that was repaired. Every photo had this one eye appear as though the Great Blue Heron was blind in it. Today I saw a Great Blue Heron in the same pond of water - if it is the same one, at least it can see out of this other...

    Photoshop CC for Video Editing

How many people have tried using Photoshop CC to edit video? Any pros/cons using it compared with other video editing software?

Loosing the focus on objects in the sky

Can you elaborate a little more on this? And what type of AF are you using? Single Point? Dynamic? Group? After @BackdoorArts mentioned he uses Dynamic 153 for flying birds, I gave it a try. Have had more consistent focus with that setting vs. Single Point or Dynamic 9 which is what I used to use.

One more of the hawk from a different vantage point. No Shake Reduction done this time though. I tried 2 or 3 times, but it made squiggly lines all around the edges as well as other distortion. But it didn't seem as though it was quite as necessary as some of the other images.

    Nikon NY Repair Center

Obviously Nikon did something beneficial when this lens was in for repair. This was a horizontal image - only cropped to a vertical without cropping anything from the top or bottom. Considering this was shot at f/6.7, it's pretty darned good. I did take photos at f/8 and f/9, but I was testing...

    Nikon NY Repair Center

I am still testing out this lens after getting it back from Nikon repair. No matter whether I use single point or dynamic 153, focusing just doesn't quite cut it in this type of situation - lots of background branches with a bird or raptor. There simply isn't a whole lot of contrast, and with...

    Calendar of Architecture

Yeah, I know it's gonna be a royal pain to remove them but agree it will probably be best to do so. Here is a frontal view. I will have to see which one might be easier to edit when the time comes.

    Calendar of Architecture

After many years of wanting to create a calendar solely of architecture, I will be donating my time and images to create a calendar of local historical buildings. Their organization will be the ones selling the calendars to fund their non-profit dedicated to preserving the village's history. And...

This guy was a little further in the distance - and that's where the sharpness seems to take a hit. The uncropped original was a little soft though. However, this is cropped about 50% from the original and the highest amount of shake reduction I've ever used was applied (somewhere around 81 is...

    Nikon NY Repair Center

First I performed a new AF fine tune with the 300mm f/4 PF coupled with the 1.7x refurbished TC. Came up with a value of +4 vs the previous value of +7. Armed with that, I went in search of some subjects. Here is one - although this duck was very close, and close subjects haven't been an issue...

Here are a couple more from today. This first one is partially user error. No cropping was done so I filled the frame. In hindsight, being that close, I should have upped my shutter speed to freeze the action a little better. I'm pretty sure I was using Dynamic 153 so had to rely on the D500 to...
