The boudoir shoot went so well.......................

That her husband wanted another portrait that could be on display in their den that was better suited for public viewing but still showed off the sensuality of his wife. He liked the more "glammed up" version so I brought along the same MUA and she duplicated the hair and makeup from the other...

    Back in the saddle

After a long layoff after the death of my son in law I did a boudoir shoot for a woman who advertised on Craig's List. Not a bad gig,, $250 for about 90 minutes worth of work! The old tried and true D700 and 85mm f/1.4 AIS delivers again! I think I like her better with more understated makeup.

Not really sure when I will pick up a camera again or post on this site..............

Mine and my inlaws families have endured an unspeakable tragedy. My son in law shot and killed himself the other day, leaving Daddy's little girl a widow at 29. I am still trying to wake up from this unspeakable nightmare. Suicide is ALWAYS a permanent solution to a temporary problem.

Certainly not the best of news

But my wife has decided to throw in the towel after 35 years of marriage and almost 40 years together. I don't relish starting over at 60 but after the lies and stringing me along to think she was still willing to work on it I guess it is time to move on. Look on the bright side, now I will have...

Super "Wolf" Moon over St. Louis, MO

On a balmy 5º MO night. Supposed to go down to -6º tonight. D7100, the 600mm f/4 AIS "Beast" and TC-301 2x teleconverter. ISO 400. 1/400 @ f/11 (moon shot rule of thumb) I was not outside for more than about 6 or 7 minutes and the legs of the tripod were already so cold I they stung my hands...

    Cassie M (NSFW)

I managed to get in one shoot before I left NH. The setup was simpler than I am used to using but since all of my studio stuff was 1500 miles away I made do with that I had, only two of my Sunpak 555's bounced into white umbrellas. She was a blast to work with!

Not as much time to shoot up here as I would like............

Since I am the only Microbiologist in the entire hospital I stay very busy and I am having to work every other weekend which really bites. But there are some nice scenic areas up here this time of year. There has been a lot of rain here in the last week or so the brooks and creeks have a lot of...

I am up in Wolfebor NH.............

I have not broken out the camera gear but it will be soon. There is a tremendous amount of things to shoot up here both on digital and film. The leaves are beginning to turn and I plan on heading up to Pittsburg NH to get as many shots as I can of the moose. It is the rut season and they will...

My favorite from this photoshoot NSFW

Ashley was a great model to work with and the sunrise shoot was a lot of fun. However it was still October and the water was a wee bit on the chilly side but she was a trooper!

    Alternatives to Photobucket

I have used this site for a number of years and it has become an ever increasing PITA. Now I have to upgrade to use the [IMG] links to post here. I am done with this POS site. Anyone have any suggestions? I prefer a free site because I won't use it that often

    The Devil's Millhopper

The "Devil's Millhopper" is a natural, 120' deep limestone sinkhole here in Gainesville. The bottom remains dry for a good part of the year, but with the summer rains it floods with water. This image was taken with a 16mm full frame fisheye not long after the park opened. It does not open until...

    Texture

I love the texture of old and weathered wood and fittings. These images were taken of an old and dilapidated barn outside Micanopy FL with the Nikon FTn, 50mm f/2 Nikkor H and TX. Even after 45 years that old camera and lens still deliver the goods superbly!

Well the Nikon Super CoolScan is back operational finally

The negative carrier was sticking in the loading tray causing the scanner to occasionally brain cramp when it initialized. When you fed the carrier to scan a negative it would hang up and then jump and start moving again. Unfortunately no scan was possible with this happening. I took the scanner...

From the Alligator Farm Zoological Park in St Augustine FL

Man, has this park sure grown up since we took our young daughters (who are now 28 and 31) there in the late 1980's. This Park has a tremendous amount of wildlife, including a specimen of every type of Crocodile and most Alligators. There is also an open rookery for Wood Storks, Tricolor Herons...

How long have you been using Nikon?

My first serious camera was a Minolta SRT-101 back in 1972. I don't consider the Kodak 110 I had before that as a serious camera. It took me about 2 years to outgrow Minolta so I got a used Nikon FTn in 1974 and it has been Nikon exclusively (except for Hasselblad in MF) for the last 43 years.
