So... an acquaintance of mine just moved into the area and opened up a mini art and music studio... in chatting with the person that manages the art side of the studio, and mentioning my shots, they've extended an offer to display and sell some of my work. Anybody work with studios before and know a fair percentage for the sale of displayed items? :)

I don't have an answer for you but why not start a thread in the business sub-forum? You might reach more people who have participated in that type of collaboration.

I had an offer of 10% from a hotel lobby display shop, slightly different I know but it gives you an idea. You can work something out from there if you like.

Sorry all. Just haven't had the heart for much of anything lately... Here's a few I've shot recently. Didn't put HUGE effort into the car shots, but at least it shows off the new ride a bit. I'll get out and get some better shots soon.

The ammo shot is just an up close of some of my target rounds for the new long rifle. Gave it a bit more effort. :)

Now that I'm at the computer, though... figured I'd see what I could do with some ammo. May I present...

"Masquerade of the Heart"

Masquerade.jpg

...to be described by a question, remembered from many moons ago, that was asked in a quiz relating to "The Masque Of the Red Death".

"What was in the room that rang terror in the hearts of the masquerades?" It was actually a black clock, if I remember correctly, but as I tweaked and toyed and filtered, this image popped out of the woodwork, as did that phrase from the distant past. It all fit together, tonight, so here stands the "art" I have wrangled out of fancy.

No time to shoot much lately, but I've had a ball going back to some photos I intended to work with, and HEY! Sold another print today!

"Flight of Fancy - When the Spirit Soars Free"

...and "Strangers in the Night.... Exchanging Flashes" - well, ok, it was daytime, and there were no flashes, but some of you could hear the song I intended in your minds. :)

I haven't shot in...

Forever...

Life has presented me with a bit of a funk, but I miss one of my "down time" loves, so I'll be in photo re-hab soon! ;) Dunno if you guys have missed me, but I have.

Bright spot in the midst of recent challenges... my daughter married her best friend.

NO, I wasn't the photographer for the event, but I did take the chance to grab just a few candid shots. Not a lot, as I was the "Dad" for the evening, but a few, because that's who "Dad" is. All were taken spur of the moment. No flash, high ISO, minimal lighting... just did what I could.

Wow, what a drastic year. I want to send a letter to "Whatever doesn't kill you..." and tell it, frankly, I'm already bad-ass enough.

I'm finally poking my head above ground, now, and wanted to test out my new light stand with umbrella and wireless flash triggers, so I took a stab at explaining what things have been like so far this year while I dabbled with lighting and editing.

It all started out like this. Really.

...off and on, I switch between returning to that first phase, or reacting like this...

As is typical with me, though, I always do my best to make it seem like nothing is wrong.

I'm still there, but I've got faith. Eventually it's all gonna snap back to normal.

Then, for some fun, I just threw it all together, and I think this "mash" portrays what people around me see during any given moment.

Hey, at least I'm messing with the camera again... right?
