New batteries has to go thru a number of charge - discharge cycles before they reach full capacity. Discharge the battery quite a bit, before charging it again. As mentioned above, it is recommended to buy a backup. I have two batteries which I switch between.

There's one small advantage with using DX mode on a FX camera. The viewfinder will show the DX area instead of the FX area. Never the less there are hardly no benefit with the DX mode on a FX camera. It seems that it's more for to be able to use DX lenses on FX camera.

Not much of a landscape, but this was the view the other evening. The original photo was not much to look at, dark trees and a flat sky, but after some work in Lightroom it turned out almost how I saw it with my eyes, only just a little better!
