Hi Lindalee Welcome to Nikonites. You will find the folks on this site very friendly and helpful. You are shooting with a great camera the D-90 is awsome. I have had mine for couple years now with the battery grip and enjoyed it very much. I have just recently made it my 2nd shooter as I got a great deal on a D-300, But I still grab the D-90 more time than not.
