This is another one handed photo shot through the windshield while driving.

On shot #457 with the water and rocks in it the road had many "S" curves in it and as I was going around one of the curves I took this shot. The road curves sharply to the left and then back to the right again and if you look close you can see where the road is in the picture in the flat section an inch or two above the rocks going from left to right. You don't see the road I am on because I had a longer focal length lens on my camera that day.

In #461 I am on the inside lane of the right side of a four lane road. The other two lanes coming from the opposite direction are out of site to the left and do not go through a tunnel. If you look ahead of me in the tunnel you will see red taillights ahead of me in the same lane that I am in. In this photo you do see the road because it was a different day and I had my wide angle lens on my camera at the time.

In the picture below I was out of the car and had walked down to the waters edge to take this shot.

Been to all of them, love it up there in the Fall. I used to play golf at the Gatlinburg Golf Club, located right where you turn off the 441 Scenic Parkway to go up to Dolly Wood. I'd drop my wife off at D-Wood and then go play 18 holes of golf. When I finished (4 hrs later) I'd call her on her cell phone and see if she was ready to leave. If she was I'd go pick her up, if she wasn't I'd play another 9 holes of golf. Worked out great for us, she had fun at D-Wood and I had fun playing mountain golf.

We went by that golf course every day last week. Our cabin was down that road past the old entrance to Dollywood. What little I could see from the road it would be a challenging course.

Several weeks ago I was contacted about using one of my pictures for a brochure that will be distributed all along the Mississippi Gulf Coast. They found it on my website and got in touch with me about using it for the main picture on the front. The first printing was 25,000 copies. I mentioned in a post several weeks ago about one of my pictures appearing on a brochure and I received some copies today and thought I would share my good news with everyone. The lighthouse picture with the Biloxi visitors center behind it is my picture. It has a photo credit in the bottom left hand corner of the picture. I happy about my picture appearing in the brochure but it is a big deal to me that they looked me up to find out if they could use it.

Thanks Pat and Ted for your comments. In the shots that are through the windshield of my car the camera is nowhere near my eye, I just reach my arm out, point and shoot. For some reason any time I just reach out and point the camera in the direction the subject is, the composition is consistently almost as accurate as it would have been if I had been looking through the viewfinder. I will add that I never use the live view when I shoot this way.

I've driven on some beautifully scenic highways through Tennessee, West Virginia, etc., and there is nowhere to pull over safely. I've stopped at parks and overlooks, but I've passed up some of the best just because I couldn't stop. Using my scooter helps locally to get in to tight spots, but I don't use it for the highways.
