Nice!! We have squirrels, cannot get close enough nor do they come close enough to the house. My 3 dogs do not help that either!

Pat in NH

There are three of them and they're usually getting yelled at by my husband for running across the screens of the screen room.

Thanks Jeff and Pat. It's unusual to for me to see the heron with its neck feathers out like that. Right place, right time.

Did you post it? I wanna see!!!

Not yet... have a bunch to process (crop etc) including the birds... I will have some up tomorrow for sure!! (Promise) They are not as good as a lot on here (including yours!) I found it very hard to find them in the viewfinder and then focus was slow often... what focus mode do you use for the in flight?

I agree, I have a hard time finding them in the viewfinder also.

I use AF-C. Just start clicking away. I get lots of headless birds or just a wing. If the bird is dark, usually the focus goes back and forth and forth and back until the bird is out of site, then I get a great shot of the sky, clouds, trees, etc... I've tried manual, but that's worse for me. Can't turn the ring and keep the bird in site at the same time.

I get a keeper every now and then. Those are the ones I post, some also go on the ALMOST thread. I keep trying.
