Waiting for the perfect shot!

That's quite a crowd. And some professional looking lenses. What were they "waiting" for?

They were all facing one of the nesting islands. I believe they were waiting for the male great blue heron bringing home twigs, like this -

This was taken from a different spot than where they were all waiting.

After Wako, I drove past a local nursery/grower. These were taken from the sidewalk behind the fence.

A golf cart drove up behind me. He asked if I was his competition.

When I told him I was just an amateur photographer, he invited me in.

First Christmas lights on our block. This is our neighbors house. Usually he lights up the palm fronds.

Guess even things in nature lose their good looks when they get old.

Actually, if the older one was bothered some by the background, I actually liked the gold & glittery wing color but the younger was brighter with a better background... If you switched backgrounds, I think I would have liked the older better...

even in our "wildlife refuge" you would not get any where near the birds as they are in your shot.

The bird islands in Wakodahatchee are closer than the ones at Green Cay. We're pretty lucky. The island where the Wood Storks nest is out of range for me. I wish they would nest in one of the closer islands.
