LOL....Yeah we are :). I have orderd from them about six times so far, and I have had very good success with that company.
I can't believe how good the products are from them, at such a good price. Service has been very good, It is a place you should always check first before buying anything for your camera.

OMG, what a site! Thank you for the link! I can't believe their prices. Worse, I can't believe how much I spent elsewhere!

(Anybody want to buy a couple of pocketwizards? :)

This picture was taken with 4 SB900s and triggered by Nikon CLS
2 SB900s (1 left and 1 right, gelled and snooted for hair light rim)
1 SB900 in a shoot thru umbrella, shoulder high on model ( to light up the couch and for fill of shadows on models face, arms and legs)
1 SB900 in 90x90cm softbox 45 degrees up left side of model

wow! I can't believe you have 4 SB900's! Isn't that awful expensive? Why not use studio type lights instead?
Both great shots, though, by the way. :)

Hahahaha. I like the portability of flashguns. And they are very light to carry around but not light on the pocket. LOLs

Thanks for liking the pics. Still learning here.

Honestly, I think that's the way to go if you're not into carrying a huge bag full of equipment. Besides the Nikon CLS system plays together with all of the flash units rather nicely. Start trying to organize studio and SB-xxx lighting together, and it starts getting a bit more complex.
You'd spend the same kind of money anyway if you went with a nice studio lighting setup.

Hi Essence of Imagery

Im not fond of shooting studio/indoors. If weather permits, I would like to shoot outdoors or on location every time. Regarding studio set-ups, I seriously considering them too. Specially the Einstien by Paul Buff (Paul C. Buff - Einstein). My only concern with studio lights is you have to bring the heavy power pack every time. With speedlights, I just bring a dozen or more extra Eneloops and Im good to go already.

Ranie, I want to compliment you on this stunning protrait! What makes it even more impressive is that it was CLS. You obviously have mastered their system. Thank you for posting the info.

IF I understand correctly, each of the flashes was on the same channel but different group (A,B,C,D?)

Yes Helene. They are of the same channel but different groups so that you can adjust the output of each flash independently.

Really beautiful, Ranie! What camera do you use? Do you trigger your flashes with the SU-800?

Hi Helene. I have 2 bodies. A D90 and a D300s. On this particular pic, I used my D90 and 17-55 F2.8. I don't use an SU800. Only the pop-up flash to command the speedlights thru CLS.

Thanks for the info, Ranie. Your portraits are truly an example of how to use Nikon's CLS system effectively. They should commission you to write a book :)

Best Regards
