Photo Organization

Just a quick question. What is everyone using for photo organization? I’ve always used LRC, it’s been good, but lately I’ve been using things outside of Adobe for editing.

I just create a subfolder based on the location and date for each shoot. Maybe not the best solution, and sometimes I have to search a little to find a specific image, but for now it works for me. I generally have a good idea of when and where I shot something. The biggest issue is when I have made multiple trips to the same location in a month or season.

Another thing I do is to create two separate subfolders within each shoot's folder. One for full sized tif files, and another for smaller jpg files that can be posted or sent via email and test messages.

Great tips here! Keeping everything sorted by date + project has been a lifesaver for me too. Makes it so much easier to find shots later without digging through a mess of folders. Always cool to see how others organize their workflows.

Zero Ipad support, LR Cloud program added local storage. I’m guessing anything new they add to LRC will be ported over to LR. I could be wrong, but I highly doubt it.
What do you mean zero iPad support? The iPad app works great. You can either use it standalone (if you have enough storage) or connected to the Cloud.

Personally I use the iPad app when I travel. I download via the Apple SD card reader and backup to a Samsung T9. I make a copy from the card reader to a folder on my iPad before importing into LR for quick edits and social media posts. (See this old pic for an example.) I work local and with LR not syncing while I travel.
