Yesterday I ordered a Sony a6300. I sold my Nikon gear, which I bought 3 month ago. It was a decision made of my current health problem. It doesn't get better it can be only stabilized. Dis state I didn't know on December.

Sorry to hear about your health issues Michael. I do look forward to your images with your new camera.

A test in the shop to make sure with it on the camera it gave full coverage with the Sigma 105 at its closest focusing distance

Used D750 (7500 clicks)

Battery grip

Tamron SP 24-70 f2.8 lens (Just checked tracking comes today)

Made the jump to FX. One of the reasons I've been missing out on the weekly challenge took me a month to find the right price on all the gear and stay in my budget. The lens put me over $200 budget.

Been playing with the camera using my Nikon 28-300 f3.5/5.6 and loving it. Can't wait to get fast glass on it and see what it can really do.

I just purchased this Neewer reflector clamp. The reviews are quite positive, and the majority of it is metal. I also have a boom arm with a clamp, but the boom makes the lightstand more tippy than I am expecting this would be. A lightstand can be raised very high to accommodate a larger-sized reflector with this, too. I'll make sure to open the package and set the clamp in our shed if the plastic/rubber pieces smell as bad as reviews state. ;) And at $15.49, it isn't as expensive as the boom arm with clamp.

It's also available as a twin pack if anyone is interested for just $22.99. The link below is for the single clamp.

Just bought d500 body and the 200-500mm lens. I'm going away for a couple weeks and was counting on having this setup to take with me. So I order it everything looks good camera and lens will be here today, that's great because I'm leaving tonight for 2 week vacation. I had some things to take care of this morning, so I ask my 21 year old step son who has never worked a day in his life and does absolutely nothing but play video games if he could sign for the package in my absence. While I'm gone I get a shipping update text for a failed delivery attempt. All he had to do was answer the door. So needless to say I am leaving at 3am for 2 weeks and have a Nikon body and no lenses.

This clamp arrived today. The smell isn't nearly as bad as what some of the reviews suggested. :beguiled: The clamp is exceptionally strong. There's no way it's going to drop something. It's all I can do to open it. The clamp itself is metal, not plastic, although the edges that hold a diffuser are rubber.

I also ordered 2 of these Godox receivers (I already have a Godox XProN trigger). I'm in the process of switching over to Godox flashes but still have Nikon flashes that work. When my SB-910 stopped working for the second time, I never sent it in again as the cost to repair it the first time was $200. But I still have an SB-700 and two SB-28 flashes (from my 35mm film days). The SB-28 units have approximately the same power as the SB-910 so rather than sell them (they don't bring in much money), I want to put them to use. They are supposed to work in manual although not TTL.

These Godox receivers came with sync cords and a couple other small items; however, they don't come with a case. Can anyone suggest case options to hold a Godox trigger and these 2 Godox receivers as well as the cables/extras? It wouldn't have to be overly large. I'm not familiar with cases for small items like these.

About the only thing I miss from my days of using Yongnuo flashes is the nifty little zippered bag I got that neatly stored two triggers and a controller... So handy!

For your X1's you may have to adapt a different bag to suit your needs. I found this one online... Looks like it might work:

Hardside Case.

Thanks, Paul. I will keep it in mind. I am hoping for a soft padded case although I honestly don't know if a soft or hard case will work better. What type of case came with your Yongnuo? Was it soft or hard?

The cases are nice and are semi-hard preformed cases for the flashes.
However, nothing for the triggers or receivers.

I just sent my Tamron 150-600mm G1 back to Tamron AGAIN for warranty service. So, I mean I had to have a long lens in the mean time, right? :) I picked up the newer Tammy 150-600mm G2 yesterday. I have only taken a few test shots, but can tell already that I am getting sharper shots than I have in a long time with the old Tammy. The VC (R) on this thing is pretty amazing. I have been able to get some clear shots at 600mm as slow as 1/30th. Anyway, here's the obligatory poor quality cell phone shot of the new lens. Now I gotta' sell a couple of things before the credit card payment is due. I bought new tires yesterday, too.

Is that table runner homemade? If so, I feel your pain and share your lightness of wallet. I've discovered that a quilter should never be challenged by a photographer in the spending arena. The quilter wins every time!
