Getting ready for the Meet and Greet in Lakeland in a couple of weeks. Chance of rain so bought an additional iKross Professional Camera Protector Rain Cover Rainproof for DSLR SLR Cameras for the wife's D7100. Also bought two ponchos and Bass Pro tonight to stuff in my back pack. Will be ready even it it does rain.

Bought the wife a new pair of Merrell Hiking boots so she will be ready to hike for the several hours like we did last year.

Well, 💩. Had to postpone the D750 for a couple weeks. When your GM completely forgets to turn in your commission report to accounting, you tend to not get your check. 😡 Have to wait until next pay period.

At at least the 200-500 is paid for and will be fun to play with until I can order the 750 again.

Just .... wow. There's only one thing that gets higher priority from me than my customer care, and that's employee payroll. Sorry to hear about the dropped ball. :(

Yeah, Charlie. It was about to get heated, but at the end of the day, I still need to be employed. Getting stuck in that spot having to fight the "bosses" over getting paid is not a fun thing. IMHO, it wasn't necessarily an accidental overlooked thing.

Oh well. I'll just go about my daily duties and not stress unless it becomes a recurring issue.

Good news is is that my 200-500 shipped today!! 🎉😎

Really itching to get back to shooting film now that the temps are tolerable outside, planning to go out and shoot in the city next Monday.

Picked up a few film related items this week on ebay:

Red B+W 55mm 25 090 red filter $20 I'll use this on the Electro 35 GSN next week while shooting some Tri-X

TIME Magazine promotional 35mm plastic camera kit $6

BLACK Yashica Electro 35 GT (sold as-is, bought primarily as it comes with the Yashica Tele-wide viewer for my GSN) $13.50

Good luck with that! I loved shooting 35mm film and waited a long, long time to switch to a DSLR. Even though I still have my N90s and N70, I have no desire to shoot with them. Perhaps it's because I've gotten a little lax...it is so easy to glance at the image on a DSLR to check exposure that it isn't so critical to meter like it used to be. However, I do miss using a darkroom. There's nothing like the smell of chemicals, watching images appear on paper, and bumping into others when first walking into the dark. :beguiled: (Took a class for darkroom printing). ;)

I bought a 1/4" to 3/8" Bushing Adapter for my monopod so that I could mount a head on it. I mounted my gimbal on my monopod and played with it a little bit and was quite surprised on how easy it is to handle. Plan to go shoot birds with the rig tomorrow to see how it works. It is a lot easier than moving and handling a tripod and still takes the weight off and makes for a very steady platform.

We will see.

I've found that using a gimbal on a monopod sometimes requires 3 hands - one to hold the monopod, one for the camera and one to zoom the lens. :)
