Setting up for my dramatic sports shoot tomorrow and called in a friend to stand in for lighting setup. Unfortunately, he didn't have his gear tonight, but I got the lights set up and I will shoot him in gear another night. The best part, Big Mike is 6' 6" and over 300 lbs., so if Big Mike fits in the frame then I will have no problems with anyone else. So tomorrow it will be full football gear and artificial sweat.

Great night shooting and making these baby skinned athletes look a bit grittier and tougher. The last one was the only one that I could get a "tough" response out of. The others would just laugh and couldn't do tough.

This baby-faced small kid was so difficult to toughen up. Kittens are not afraid.

What I'm finding, which confirms what I have read, that it's not quite as sharp as some of the higher megapixel cameras. However, I'm thinking this may be a real benefit for portrait work concerning skin. Kind of matches what I found when comparing the D800 with the D600. The D800 picked up details you couldn't readily tell were there with your eye.

I do love the sound of the shutter, different from all my other cameras. Looking forward to shooting with her.
