Quiet cloudy Sunday morning with my 2 knitters. How to save an out of focus picture? Use many photoshop filters on top of each others to hide the facts. :)
Guilty I am of having a hard time with manual focus at times with the Df. Is it my eyesight or just my lack of concentration, no one knows.

I wanted to play around with the Rokinon (Samyang, Bower, Visitor 85 1.4) with extension tubes.

The dof was minimal at best but I enjoyed doing what I did and think the results are about OK.

Just across the street, I took these 3 shots, no tripod, manual exposure and I did 3 different exposures that I processed with Photomatix.

Wow, look at that shutter speed! 100/49999 :beguiled:
I guess they could have rounded it up to 1/500th... That's Nikon's Df precision for you. :)
But in reality, since this was 3 different exposures gone through Photomatix, I don't have a clue as to what is the resulting exposure for this shot.

Daily shots, some with Df others with D700. My D700 seems to get better results with the Sigma 150 in manual focus mode. Might be that my focusing screen on the Df needs adding or removing spacers...

Today I decided it was about time to take the D7000 out. Used the Sigma 10-20 for my fall shots of the day.

I had to remove a few distractions from my mother and grand-son picture. I found her necklace was too distracting and my original version was a bit dull (not enough contrast.

So here's my new version.

I like this one with the necklace edited out as I found it to be a little distracting, too. Nice one, Marcel!

Thanks for the feedback Cindy.
Sometimes we forget to look at these things but they can really distract the eyes enough that they can't stick to the main subject. I think the baby gets more importance without the necklace.

To me it was part of the story ggma moved it to be out of the baby's hands and not under the baby's head. But either one is nice.

It's been a while since I posted some pictures of the beautiful river that runs down the street. So I got my courage up early and walked down the river to capture a few shots. Df with 24-120 VR.

Another part of the river. And some leaves (why do I always better shots than the one I've entered in the weekly?).

I did process another shot from this morning, trying to get a little better depth with the available light that was there. So I added a bit of "oil paint" filter that I masked out in some areas and then just reduced the opacity. Maybe it's better... ?
