Day One Hundred Thirty Three

I was over looking at my neighbors garden, and these followed me home. Shhh!! Don't tell him. Truth be known, he was there and my wife walked over and helped him pick them.

Radishes and Onions are now in short supply now (unless he plants more).

Day One Hundred Thirty Four

Was down in Richmond today (90 min Drive) The whole Fam Damily met for a champagne brunch. Really good food, and lots of it. We were fortunate because all four generations were there at the same time. Ages ranged from 92 (dad) to 19 months (my grandson). We got lots of family group photos, but I was asked not to post them because of the grandkids. I got this shot. My oldest sister said it's a peace lily. I'll take her word for that. She's smart. She she must be. She lives in NC like Pete.

Your sister is correct. This is a Peace Lily.

But we BOTH could be wrong! :)

I decided to call this shot "Rock Near Work". That's because it's a rock and it's near where I work..

Another day shot. I had the camera all day but was just too busy. After work I had to get my hair cut so I drove over to see Debbie. When I parked and got out of the car this is what I saw... She didn't expect me to take her picture. I know it's a bad photo, but it's all I have today and now that I'm home I'm going to upload this and then focus on dinner and then it will be bedtime.

Lord have mercy. When you can't just go out and wander, it gets extreemly difficult to find something to photograph. Shylo and Dakota won't stay still long enough to photograph. Charlie almost never moves. I tried taking his picture without the flash. I shot this with in "A" mode, with f at 5.6. That selected shutters that were too slow. I kept bumping the ISO until it reached 1600. With the D60, you're reaching no-no land at 800 so this one is a little speckly. I think I could do better if I can get Charlie out in the sun. I'll try later on.

What is your shake factor with that lens?

Slowest shutter speed you can shoot with no shake at max aperture on any given ISO???

Indoors under bulbs you're looking at anything from about f2.8 at 1/15 to 1/60 ISO 400...you can hold it still...put a pod under it and you could drop the iso as low as you wanted...

Why don't you just use the flash? LOL

Any good old dog snap is a good snap... :)

Had to turn a few screws this afternoon. That gave me this idea. I never realized how crappy Craftsman is marking their screwdriver handles now. They used to be one of the highest quality tools you could purchase. They still say made in the USA, but now I'm wondering what their material sources are.

Not much in the way of opportunities today. While waiting to pick up my wife, I felt the car start shaking. It was turned off so that could mean only one thing.

This area is still city so the engines have to move slowly. Quarter mile down they can speed up and by the end of a long train they're really moving.

Went to the final week of soccer for my granddaughters. Discovered (after the fact) that I had the camera set in Aperture Priority instead of Shutter. I had to settle for this shot of a "Partly Cloudy" day in Virginia. I won't make that mistake with tomorrow's plans.

Interesting turn of events. My two older grand daughters (7 & 5) were here Saturday Night. They started building a "Marble Machine" on the wall using construction paper, cardboard tubes. paper plates and cups. A lot of tape and thumb tacks.
By the time they were done It actually worked. The marble ran through the various stages all the way down to the floor. They had all the ideas, I helped position things and fine tuned everything. The hallways is so closed in, I could only get one part of it. After about 20 tries I actually got the marble in mid flight.
