Ok, so I posted here a couple of weeks ago about how I was tempted at a B&M store when the sales clerk handed me a D750 with a 200-500 5.6 mounted on it and took me outside to try it out.

Well, today, I took my D7100 and an 80-200 f2.8 lens that I've not used for a long time to see what they would give me on trade-in on them. I ended my trip with a net loss of one lens and some cash. I walked out of the store with a D750, feeling like I got a great deal.

Now to test drive it!

Uh, oh!!! I just went through my answering machine messages to clear them because the machine is full, and there was a message from the owner of the store that I purchased my D750 from, asking me to call him about my D750. He gave me his cell phone number and told me to call him on that number. I'm not going to call him on a Sunday, especially Mother's Day, so I will find out the issue with my D750 tomorrow. I'm hoping the issue is a happy one: I've already checked the serial number for recalls, and it is not affected. I can't think of anything else they would call me about other than a recall.... What am I missing?

Gazebo started DSC_0027 -1.jpg

Getting started on a new gazebo. It is just laid out roughly to get an idea of where it will go.
And there is a new Dewalt mitre saw stand to make the work go a little easier.

Of course it is photography related as I will be able to sit in the shade and wait for birds to come into my line of sight, while sipping on a fresh cup of coffee.

I ordered a Lowepro Slingshot 202 the other day. My little bag just isn't cutting it anymore, and since I got the new lens, I figured I might as well uograde.

Don't let those two bags get together - these things are like rabbits. Have one, you have one, get two, next thing you know you have the "camera bag" closet.

Good news!! My dealer called me to let me know about the free battery grip, and that mine is on the way to my house. It should be here by Wednesday afternoon. Wow, I feel really lucky and blessed.

So that's what's been happening in my wardrobe where I keep my camera bags. It no wonder I ordered a Lowepro Flipside 400 AW yesterday. I think I need to keep my bags separate from now on!

I just walked through the door after work, and the grip was sitting inside the front door waiting for me. Ya-hoo!! I'll wait to connect it to the camera, though. I guess I'm being lazy...

My central heating and air bit the dust after 15 years.
The price of replacing it? A D500 with a Nikon 200-500mm.
Had to replace the inside and outside units because with the new freon that they use now you can't just replace one of the bad units anymore.

Tokina 11-20mm f/2.8 DX... Had a first play today and I love it!

Only slight concern is lack of a polariser, as am wary of the odd effects of a polariser, certainly at the 11mm end. Had some rather pale skies today, with white fluffy clouds which I'd like to have highlighted a bit more. Anyhow, it's only day one!

Oh, and PS... The gold strip around the lens is starting to peel off in the first hour of use. Tsk!!
