Another dreary day... but I got out and got some old stuff. Hopefully some sunshine tomorrow.

Better weather today. Started with a sunrise through Heavy Fog and frost. Than clear skies. I shot some winter trees. One full of mistletoe and the other is just a crooked old sycamore, but I like those old narley trees.

Tomorrow a buddy is taking me to Taylorsville lake. It is a bit further than I am comfortable driving. There are suppose to be some Bald Eagles nesting there... I am borrowing a 55-300 from a friend and hoping i can get close enough. Wish us well. Sure hope I can get some shots... But even if I don't see a bird it will be nice to be at the lake. It is supposed to be 64 tomorrow.

Well, I made it to Taylorsville Lake today. And I got to take my first BIF photos... Some gulls and a couple Baled Eagles... I had to crop them quite a bit, but it was great fun. 60 degrees and 50 MPH wind gusts. My buddy Greg tried to make sure I did not get blown over. I know this is a work in progress and I need more practice at doing this but I sure did enjoy myself today... and I got a picture of an old truck on the way home. It was a good day.... now I need a nap :)

My wife Pat and I went on a short road trip today. We went to Frankfort, the state capital, and a little park just north of it and than home. It was a beautiful day. In the 60's. I actually broke into a sweat.

These first are Cove Spring Park

You might bet the first flower in Kentucky is a Dandelion

My wonderful wife and best friend Pat and my shadow Jersey Girl. She looks grumpy because she has to sit with Pat instead of hanging at my heals.

Everyone was out and about today. Just to nice to be inside.

I wish I had a little wider angle lens...

Road up from behind the capital. Great place to scare civilians on a motorcycle... this is the straight stretch...

Well as I mentioned before Anderson County is in the middle of the Bourbon Trail. I have a lot of friends that work in distilleries. I quit drinking years ago. But before I did I always bought single barrel or just good blends. Most of these were gifts from friends that did not realize I had quit. Sometimes I would get home and occasionally find a mason jar on the back porch. The mason jar in front... that one of those surprises. It was 16 when it was taken from the barrel... What is left is well over legal age now. at least 25...

I guess I should get rid of the stuff I just haven't, so I pulled them out of the cabinet for a candle light shot. They are a bit dusty. I started to clean them up, but figured I would leave them as they were. The MM is the only one that was in a box.

Difficult day today. Went to a 22 month old babies funeral today. I get up before dawn everyday. Have been for 25 years or more. The last 10 I use it to do a devotional and Bible study. Since disabling stroke I always watch the sun come up. Even on the darkest days I usually get a glimpse of the sun. Today I was not disappointed... it was a little frosty, but I just slipped out on in the yard and took the shot.

This morning I was inspired by @cwgrizz and decided to try a panorama. Walt it is only 12 shots but I do not have the vistas you have to deal with and I am limited by lots of fence rows. But it was fun and a good learning experience. I have to rest some today, but I think Jersey and I are going to get out and try to take some more photos today.

We have had a lot of high winds the past few days. Normally it is not to much of an issue hear, but 40-50 mph gusts stir stuff @Roy1961. I just hadn't been looking closely enough. Thanks again for the catch.

Another B&W day. Kentucky has no shortage of old barns.

This old barn I have to believe was pretty cool, but it kind of faded away. I just got a front and right side view.

This one was a working milk barn up until a few years ago... now it is not. The neighbor runs a few beef cattle and that is about it.

Went to an appointment downtown today and across the road is this old Garage. Old John Deere Tractor and a Pontiac Le Mans. Cannot remember the year... 68-70 maybe... dain bramage... takes away my memory. There was a time I knew that stuff at a glance. But there is something about the smell of those old garages... grease oil and gasoline mixed in with the dirt floor. Almost made this one B&W because it was so gray and overcast, but that RED Pontiac stopped me....
