Loss of a old friend, its got to be 15 years since i started taking pictures of Musky,he was a character, not an ounce of aggression in him but even the swans never pinched his food, the last couple of times i saw him he was walking but using his wings as crutches to help his balance,it wont be the same with out him.

Female Grackle with a snack. After I shot this, she turned and went under the boardwalk.

Spotted this Juvenile great crested grebe today, it was a good way out, so thought I would wait to see if it would come a bit closer, Tricky bird to follow, it would dive under the water, and pop up 10 foot away from where it went in.

But after 10 minutes managed to get these shots.

And yet another Bittern in the open nice job

Thanks Kevin!

I spent close to a half hour with it. It was just posing for us. I thought it was going to fly off in the shot I posted in the January Favorite thread, but it didn't.

Great horned owl is back. Last year they had three babies and one died in the nest, the other two did soon after fletching the nest. So sad. Hopefully they will do better this year. I did not find them until the babies where large last year and I never saw the parents. Yesterday was the first day one of them was seen in the nest. She has not laid eggs yet. Should be a couple more weeks or more. Hopefully I will get photos from beginning to end this time. I am hoping to get them in flight some this time. But my main lens is acting up. I am selling stuff on ebay like mad trying to raise money for a new lens. I hope I can get it soon. I am either going with the Sigma 150-600 or the Nikon 200-500. Depends how much money I can raise. Even with my lens acting up I got two that did not turn out to bad. Highly cropped.
