Nikon WU-1A wireless mobile adapter thoughts and experiences?

Mine came with the string/strap/tether thingy and instructions on how to attach it to the camera. The system is quite nice it is always there ready to use and does not get in the way. Since it is attached to the camera I do not lose it like I do all the other little pieces. And now that I know to put it in airplane mode I will be using it a lot more. I can use my phone as a remote trigger now since I lost the wireless remote I bought for it.

If you have an IR-capable phone, you can use it as an IR remote.

I've had mine for over a year and I've never gotten it to download all the pictures i've asked it too, usually that's 12 or less. it's a good idea that doesn't work very well. I wonder how the built in the D7200 compares?

I've had no issues with the built in on my D7200. The only issues that I've had with the external unit on my daughter's D3200 is the same camera disconnected error that people report. I've found that if I first disconnect whatever device I'm on (phone, tablet) from my home wifi (or hotel, restaraunt, whatever), THEN connect it to the nikon adapter that I have zero issues from it. I never thought to try airplane mode.

I'm just gonna say, after everything I've seen and heard about the WU-1A I'm glad the D7200 has built in WiFi.

I just bought a WU-1a wireless adapter. I thought you could download a photo(s) to my iPhone and then send it to someone.
I can view the photos I have taken and click on the tick mark but they never actually move to reside on the phone. Am I missing something here???

Probably the right app on your phone. Did you download Nikon's wimpware?

You should see an option to download the image to the device. I do that with my GalaxyS7.
Are you successfully connecting to the device?

Screen shots attached from Android/GalaxyS7. your screens may deviate slightly.
Select the image you would like to save and click Download on the next screen.

I agree with Joe, on iOS you should still be able to download the images from camera to your phone.

WMU is t the best mobile app written, but should do what you're asking.

I get all the above screens but the last one mine does not have a download button, it has a tick mark. Pressing achieves nothing...

bought one for my D610 (not exactly the same model but same device) tried it, played with it, it is collecting dust. Didn't work well enough for me to want to spend more time with it. Find tethering was better but seldom do either.

I wonder if the in-camera Wifi in the D750 is any better?
