Just plastic bird net; they seem to like hanging on it in the sun. We have swarms of them this year.

This one was trying to protect the eggs, I think. He/she stayed on that branch almost constantly.

I think this is a C. hamata tiger beetle... really gotta get me one of them real macro lenses tho. Maybe sigma 105mm ?
