GoPro Hero 4 Silver - now I just need to go do something fun and video it.

Camalapse 4 - it rotates a camera 360 degrees over an hour. I plan to use it to do time lapse photography of a pinball show I help to run.

I have absolutely no earthly need for one but I want a GoPro so sooo bad...

Yeah, it was hard for me to justify spending the money, too. So, I didn't - we got it as a gift. That made the cost MUCH easier to stomach. ;)

They're pretty awesome little cameras. Unbelievably small, but great picture quality. Last night I was taking video at 120 frames per second of our cats playing. Obviously it's not useful for anything at a distance.

Please to explain?

My brother and his wife took over running the White Rose Gameroom Show in York, Pennsylvania last year. My wife and I help run it. The deal is that people bring their pinball games/video games, set to free play, and they get free admission. Non-game-bringers pay $15 (I think) at the door to get in and get to play all they want. There are vendors there, too, selling parts, new games, jukeboxes, neon, etc. It's 3 days of exhaustion - the four of us and the other volunteers are pretty much wiped out at the end. But it's so much fun.

Last year, we bought this crazy little Panasonic camera (model HX-A100 if memory serves) that is sort of a GoPro knockoff, and we used it to do the time lapse photography. But that camera also does something even cooler - it will live stream to ustream.tv. This year, we had an old iPhone doing the live streaming and the Panasonic doing the time lapse (viewable here), because the iPhone didn't have enough storage to do the time lapse. The smartphone live streaming didn't work very well - I had to reset the app multiple times during the days.

Next year, the GoPro will do the time lapse, the Panasonic will stream to ustream.tv, and I'll probably have an iPhone do the circular time lapse once or twice during the show.

I also run around with our Canon P&S every so often and grab pictures, which I then upload to Facebook. Oh, and I used my phone to do some panoramic shots by climbing my ladder. I didn't even bother bringing my D7000 this year - I wasn't going to have time to edit RAWs, concern about it getting stolen, too big and in the way, and I really didn't need it - the Canon does fine for the show.

That sounds AMAZING! Wish they had something like that around here!

Thanks! It's a LOT of fun. I've been going as a customer since at least 2006, and I know that wasn't my first year. We had something like 140 games on free play - mostly pinball, but a number of video games, too - this year, all on free play. Plus several vendors had games set up, including the new Walking Dead pinball that had just come out (he sold 6 or 7 of those during the show, I might add). I don't know where you guys are located, but I know there are other shows around the country. Pennsylvania is lucky in that there are two - Allentown in the spring and York in the fall. But I know Chicago has "the big one" each fall (pinball was invented in Chicago), and that there are smaller shows around, I assume run by enthusiasts like my brother and I. (I've only ever been to Allentown and York.)

@Pretzel, You need to come to the one in York Pa. You could do a Three 4 One while you are in the Area. You could go to this show. You could Take a tour of the Harley Davidson Factory York Facility | Factory Tours | Harley-Davidson USA, Plus You could bring the Primal Beast and get some great outdoor shots in Pennsylvania. It is a Win Win Win !!!

Small stuff. My remote trigger; I wanted something without batteries. And a drive for my Mac.

So, what does a typical (/creative) ai conversion entail?
Finding a pic of AIed lens of choice, then either-
a) custom fabbing a little piece of metal/plastic to screw in in place of the coupling prong so that the aperture ring will catch the lever on the body
b) minor dremel shaving and then a)

That said, who just scored a ex+ 1966/67 55/1.2 for mere $260? :D :D :D :D

There's some guy before me in the store asking about the difference between Canon Full Frame and Crop in regards to HDR for Urbex shooting. The shopkeeper turns to me knowing I switched formats. I said I wouldn't know since I shoot Nikon and our DR is that wide, we don't really need HDR.

Not entirely accurate but I couldn't resist rubbing it in. ;)

Anyways, my pen-pal arrived.
