Well there was back order on this one so I bought a more expensive one with a backrest and a higher weight rating! I just got it and yes it seem like it should work great, though the triangle shaped seat seemed a little strange at first, but much easier to lean forward in! :)

So I'd say I'm satisfied! It will make a good fishing chair too! Lol :D

Bill, did you receive the stool yet??? Were you satisfied??

Welp, just bought a MINT Nikon 70-210mm f4 AF for $170 shipped.

Seems like cheap reach.

Congrats. That is a very good price for a mint one. I looked at a mint condition lens in this focal length with constant f/4 (it was a push/pull zoom), but it was $199. I passed on it as I didn't need it--the test shots were terrific. :)

I picked up one of the F4-5.6 ones a couple of months ago, and they are an inexpensive addition (got mine for less than $100 but it did not include the hood or lens bag).

It is a fun lens and I like it. Does the fixed F4 also have that cool push-pull zoom?

I believe mine is not push pull based on what I'm reading.

Looking at reviews I think you are right about that. The F4-5.6D is actually a 'newer' lens and the constant F4 much rarer. According to Ken Rockwell the F4 was only produced for 18 months. While the next rendition the F4-5.6AF was described as "the smaller, slower and cheaper 70-210mm f/4-5.6 AF" he does give a rave review of the F4-5.6"D" version. He did warn of some issues with some of the F4's so hopefully your lens does not suffer from the issues he describes. Nikon 70-210mm f/4 Review

I know that Rockwell has his distractors but as a novice in this field I kinda like his straight forward approach but have learned not to believe everything I read on line. I hear what he says and move on to see what others say and form my own thoughts based on the general consensus if one exists.

pat, can you get a camera in it, or just the lens.?

Ron, that is just the lens... I wanted it for:
A. Storage
B. Transport (I have a bag holds my camera with 300 and a 2nd lens such as 18-105)

Regarding B: above, I carry camera with a lens in the bag for transport, 2nd lens if I may need. This allows me to carry/transport the Beast and change to it if an occasion occurs.. Otherwise, if JUST Beast, I carry cam & lens on my body without case...

Just got back from Seattle and picked up these two for my 7100, a nifty 50 and a Sigma 50-150 2.8. The Sigma was used and I got a great price, but the 50 is new.
