Seems you have cell phone towers in that area too. Visual pollution is all over with the new cell phone technology. As much as I enjoy using a cell phone, I hate to see all the towers put in and destroy the landscapes.

End of rant. :)

Tashi, you have some possibilities with this picture. I would try cropping in a little closer, keeping the wood stalk in the photo and definitely getting the tower out. Then experiment with post processing . . . it seems to be a little overexposed to me. You may even want to try it in BW or sepia. As it is, you've got too much in your photo. it's too hard to focus on the woman. I think you recognized a great photo op and were going in the right direction. Now take some liberties with it in PP until you find something you like.

Just my thoughts.

I don't know how experienced you are and which software you use, but here is one example of what you could do with this photo. Sometimes it's easier to just show than try to explain.
In the end it's your vision. This is just to demo possibilities in post processing.

hehe.....I'll never understand this. :) My reasoning is..........until someone comes up with a better idea than using cell towers, we better all get used to seeing the towers all over the place if we want to keep using our cell phones. Seems everyone has this NIMBY attitude when it comes to their conveniences. (Not In My Back Yard). My solution?....don't look at the tower!

First sorry for the thread jack :)
Jack, I can actually sympithize on this issue a little. I spent a good portion of 2010 and 2011 building wind turbans in southern and eastern idaho. There are areas where I dont care where you live with in 20 miles, your going to see these towers and it does significantly detract from the landscape. Cell towers are just as bad and there has been better ways for years they are just not as cost effective. Even though I was being paid dang well to do my job, i went to work every morning wondering if I was really doing the right thing or if i was just part of a much bigger problem
End thread jack

I like the B&W with the crop and PP as well. looks much cleaner to me

Just love it! I am as new to photography as I am to using photo editing soft wares or post processing. All I do is use Picnic for basic editing. Guess I will have to learn post processing too. Thanks, U have been most helpful.

I agree with the posters who call for close crop, also your WB looks a tad warm, if you keep it in color you might want to cool it off just a little.
