Awesome Bill. I'm rooting for you to stay the course. Before you know it, you'll be celebrating your 1 year smoke free anniversary.

The opposite way around has happened in the past to a friend of mine & his wife. Unfortunately smoking has several habits that need kicking, the hit, the need of the drug, but mostly the habit of holding & smoking something & the occasion of the act. I'm afraid that unless you kick the habit entirely, you are not likely to help her. I'm sorry that it's not what you wanted to hear. Truly.

I am with this 100%.
A big part of the cigarette addiction is the 'routine' of smoking ... your carrying on with the 'routine' won't help your wife to stay off them as there will be a constant reminder to her of the smoking habit, even if you are using electronic cigarettes.
This is the time for you to quit altogether and fully support your wife for the sake of her health :)

Bill....you're an inspiration to many here. Everyone here has some kind of habit they'd like to get rid of. Since you quit smoking cigs, then there's no reason I can't lose weight. You keep it up dude! I'm happy for you!

Well I'm still smoke-free my friends! The cravings are just a mild annoyance lately, but my sense of taste has been driving me crazy!
No things aren't more flavorful or anything right now at least. But I'm not enjoying much that I normally really like.
For an example, Pepsi! I've been drinking practically nothing but Pepsi for 30+ years, and now it doesn't really taste good anymore. It doesn't exactly taste bad, but it doesn't taste good either. Frankly it hardly tastes at all to me, and I mainly notice the carbonation and that's about it.

Hamburgers! I'm a huge hamburger fan, and can eat them everyday for every meal happily! But now it's it took me a while to make one I could even say I liked. Not great but just liked!

Anyway everything seems to be like that! :(

Man I hope I get past this stage of getting rid of my cigarette habit fast! Because it sucks for me.:(

There are other hurdles like my sense of smell, making everything stink because they smell too strong. But it the sense of taste that bugs me the most so far.

Just an update for you my friends! :)

Really interesting about your sense of taste. Just a thought, maybe the hamburger & Pepsi taste rubbish - because they are? ;) I'm sure that home-made pizza isn't in the frame yet, but try a good shop-bought pizza, or a pizza-hut version. Better still, a proper thin Italian pizza! (yum!) All washed down with a nice Italian Chianti glass or two. Lasagne can be good too. Like Pizza, nice & easy to cook but maybe not available as a take-away. The store should have some frozen lasagnes. Ones that you have to cook in the oven are better than microwaved versions.

Now I'm hungry.

Last time I quit it was for a year. My taste buds didn't increase like everyone said that they would. Nothing tasted better nor worse. To me, everything tasted like before.

Maybe try some different seasonings on your food. As far as the Pepsi goes, drink it with lots of whiskey. After a few of those ,you wont care what anything tastes like.;)

Come to Dallas. I'll take you for burgers, pizza, whatever ... You name it. Guarantee we find your taste buds in working order! :)

BTW, Dr Pepper is better than Pepsi, FYI. ;)

Thanks for the offer my friend! But I doubt I'll be doing any traveling if I can avoid it! Agoraphobia tends to make traveling very unpleasant. But I sure appreciate the invite! :D

Lol Dr pepper? I don't think I'm old enough yet to enjoy carbonated prun juice yet! Lol :p
