Another day with very little mojo and a missing "eye". A bit disappointing really but that's life.
I took about 30 photos and they were all below average. :(

I find the image a little boring but okay, I'm not really into cars. Nothing wrong with the technique so it's the composition. To me, to crop this close, I would rather have seen the car from front and direct on (and even tighter crop).

Or else I would have liked to see more of the surroundings, if they could add to the story. There are also some harsh shadows, maybe you could have used them for something?

Mai you are such a super star! I should have mentioned that this graveyard was so full of stuff that getting a clear shot was impossible and very frustrating, No matter what angle there were distractions. Grrr…
Frnt end and tighter crop MAY have worked.

I thought today would be as good as any to share some intimate stuff with you all … I feel I know you well enough. ;)

Its amazing what you can find on your way back from the bathroom.

"And why, Lawrence, did you have your camera with you in the bathroom?"

OK this is when I don't understand things. The thumbnail attachment is not supposed to be there. I was trying to show the hat rotated as if on a table but it comes up the same as the hanging one.
Can someone delete that thumbnail please?

I'm really loving this shot buddy! The rich colors and the deep dark background looks awesome my friend! Way to go! :D

I think it is an Iris. Not sure why I am doing all these flower shots when I have such stunning views but ….
have you ever noticed that some stunning views come out "flat" as photos (or is that just my lack of skill)?

I was going to leave the background foliage out but in the end I decided I like it.

I found myself looking more at the reflection of the trees in that photo. The truck would make a great HDR subject. If you revisit that place, try to get a shot that focuses on the reflection in the front window and make the truck more of a "frame" for that shot... Just an idea. :D

Edit the post in Go Advanced mode, then click on Manage Attachments, find the image that's not displayed and click the 'X' in the upper right corner to delete it.

I've been doing a bit of post processing recently and trying stuff I haven't tried before. Nothing fantastic by way of results but it is helping me with becoming familiar with E11 and my basics are improving. Hopefully the adventurous stuff will follow. As long as I keep following Jake's stuff which I find invaluable.

Here is a Strelizia I shot today which has had a bit of PP done to it.

And yet another fantail ….

This scene appealed tome as the rocks look so rugged, the grass on them obviously having had a tough life exposed to the elements as they have been, the huge tree on the left with a horizontal truck further proof of how the weather can get and then with all that going on the sea was as smooth as glass.

Now this was fun - inspired by Jake's work.
There are thousands of old boats lying around in New Zealand and many are being lovingly restored by enthusiasts who love the old wooden era. It must be an awesome hobby to restore something like this and then see it on the water in almost all it's former glory.

I've titled it "Long Time No Sea"

I have pheasants in the area but they are very skittish and getting close is proving to be difficult - but never fear I have a plan!
This afternoon I managed to get as close as I ever have and it was still a long way off.
This photo was taken with my 70-300mm with a 1.4 TC maxed out. So effectively 420mm but man I needed LIGHT!!!! Pushed ISO right up to 2500 but that meant a fairly slow shutter speed of 1/320

In the end it is a good exercise to test just how far I can push the D5100 which is not too far and a good reason once again for investing in glass!! Good glass.

However with all that the photo is pleasing to me - especially knowing I have a plan to tame these little blighters and hopefully get a lot closer to them.

cracked corn helps. They are very hard to capture, any movement and it is good bye.
