I am still trying to focus on the basics. Got to get those down. Then I can start adding other elements. But right now composition is key. More so than subject matter for me. Although there will never be anything boring about flowers.

Thanks Vixen! I had fun shooting the rose. Had to lay down to shoot it. Got some funny looks.



I even had one person ask why I felt the need to lay down to shoot it. I asked them if they would have gotten down on the ground to look at it. They said no. So I said there you go. The idea is to not try and capture how we see the rose, but how nature sees it.



They still didn't get on the ground to look at it.......

What a great catch up that was (except of course when you start on some page and some innocent twerp says something like "Wow that one with the yellow petals is unreal" and then I have to go back another 10 pages to find it :) )

Oh … and by the way was it funny looks or did you just look funny?

Thanks for stopping in Lawrence! The yellow one was nice eh? LoL. I probably look like a guy laying across the path...in peoples way...with a black camera shooting flowers. It would have probably been the most macho thing you saw all day if ya was there.

I just caught up on your thread.....and all I can say is wow buddy!

Hahaha. Practice practice practice. While I wouldn't say it gets easier. you do become more confident. Besides....my shooting isn't all that great!

I'm always laying on the ground to get shots, and people do look at you funny don't they? :D
