Dreary, drizzly day resulted in lack of photo motivation. Here is what I ended up with:

Jenny just loves the recliner. She considers it hers.

My hyacinth is still growing. It has not bloomed yet, but I thought this view of some of its newer leaves was interesting.

I saw about 8 - 10 deer on the grass next to a town water tank. By the time I got to them, only this guy and the one behind it were left. All the other deer trotted off with their tails wagging in the air.

You get lots of deer opportunities... enjoy the shots Barbara!

Pat,

Thanks. We have tons of deer around here, hence a lot of people have given up on having nice gardens, myself, included. The deer around here are not that afraid of humans. Some, like the one I photographed, will just stand and look at you.

No deer or opportunistic feline photos today. :)

The honeysuckle buds are just starting to come out. It is really nice to see green leaves popping out after the long, cold winter we have had.

Like the deer, the local chickadees are not as afraid of me anymore. I actually talk to them at times. I know, I am sounding like one of those crazy old ladies who talk to the animals. :) Actually, a friend of mine who has been an avid birder for many years said that chickadees are one of the few species of birds that you can get to eat out of your hand. How would I take a photo of that? :)This photo was taken with my 105 micro Nikkor lens.

Being another one of those days that are rainy, damp, and dreary made me thing about what I could photography around the house.

Jenny became very curious about what was on the plate. Labs are hearty eaters! HaHa!

Last week I got photos of a female downy woodpecker feeding on grubs in a tulip maple. Today, I took photos of a male downy woodpecker feeding on grubs on another tulip maple. This may be the mate, or would be mate. Anyway, I was so surprised to get photos of these guys. They are usually so shy.

Spent some time this evening continuing to work on my library/study. I moved out/around some books, cleaned off a couple of shelves, and even was able to get the curtains up.

Then I sat down and tried to go through the photos I took. I received more help than I wanted....

Have you noticed how crappy the photos come out when you use your laptop's onboard camera? Grainy, weird color balance and lighting, and they use a very unflattering virtual focal length for the lens.

I never ever turn the camera on on my computer. Did it once by mistake and wondered who that ugly dude was who was staring out at me. There should be a way to disable them. Nice cat

I have only done it a couple of times because the it makes my nose look really big. :)
BTW, I think every image taking with the computer camera comes out very bad. The perspective is way too weird.

Rain all day and some good, gusty wind made for few photo options today. I did get a photo of this poor little guy who looked a little wet.

Looks like the room is coming along nicely. How much more to go?
