You'll recognise this fellow Scott. This is a "Jumping Jack". They call them that coz they jump at you

I think so also. Bad shots on that site.

The photos were rather poor, but worked. I sent them this email since the site was of use.

Your site was useful in identifying the Plume Moth. However, the photo's you have listed are rather poor. If you would like, I will email you a Plume Moth photo showing all the detail and feathering of its rolled wings as listed in your description.

I did not attach the photo per some sites auto purge anything with an attachment. If you would like the photo please respond with what email address you would like the photo sent to.

Best regards.

George Pandoff

That was a very interesting site so maybe my photo can make it better.

Looking through the site, there are a number of the photos that could just as easily be a big foot sighting as the quality is quite poor. The praying mantis picture I actually think might be a space alien. If they are receptive to my offer I will send in additional good photos. Who knows, maybe I can even add an in focus big foot photo LOL!

I used to do this quite often with Cal native flower and plant images; more than half the sites essentially told me to mind my own business. We (the hort department) regularly send images to CalFlora, Theodore Payne Society, and a few others to document species occurrence and variations.

Glad I was able to help. Good luck on getting your photo there. It's a million times better than what they have.

BTW, I searched on
weird bugs in Utah and found that site.

Couldn't catch the bee in flight, but kind of a nice shot with friends on a big Pampas grass bloom
