Double crested cormorant. Starting the breeding phase. They get those tufts over their eyes that lay back almost like ears. You can kinda see them in the shot.

Thanks so much for that information Doug. I had no idea what kind of bird it was. I appreciate the detailed information. you must be a birder.

I tend to just stick to Ohio birds. But I will twitch anything new that I haven't seen within roughly 500 miles one way. Gas ain't cheap....

This is cool Wendy. Care to share how you did it please? :D
Thanks Vixen. I have a plasma plate, it's like a plasma ball. You know the kind that have arching electricity in them and if you touch them the electricity archs to your hand. Mine is a plate instead of a ball. It sits on my desk at school and everyone thinks that it is very cool. So I positioned the plate on a black cloth and turned out the light and turned on the plate. It archs electricity at random so I set the shutter to rapid fire. I used my 60mm macro lens. In processing. I changed color and enhanced it a little.

I never knew they existed. Thanks.......(guess who will be looking up plasma plates on Google soon :D)

Day 78/365 - Midnight Frost

Ok, so this photo editing and framing may look a little familiar. Confession, I bribed Moab Man with a hot chocolate to edit my photo. He is always telling me how much of a difference it makes so I wanted to see it first hand.

Second, he figured out that I have the wrong date on my camera. So if my EXIF data dates don't always match, forgive me. I'm not a time traveler... just goofed up on occasions. :)

Hey! We've got cameras, editing software and a goal now. We can provide "evidence" of your dunk!

Pretzel you are a genius, I can make a dunk, have Nikonites shoot it, then put it on YouTube as The Basketball Dunking Teacher :) I should get a million hits in a day :) Just think one million hits and each hit worth $1.00. Woo hoo!!!!! I can be rich!!! I will share it with all of my Nikonites friends. :)

That and the out of pocket expense for supplies teachers have to buy for the classroom. We spend probably $1,500 a year on school supplies.

You are so right Don, we get so little on the paycheck anyway and then we have to buy things for our class if we want to REALLY teach. I have special needs students and it takes a LOT to get the things that they need. One year I added up my out of pocket expenses and it was more than $6000.00. This year I have spent over $3000.00 on my class, and the year isn't over yet. I am planning on Pretzels idea of my dunking a basketball, to make it through the rest of the year. :)

Day 79/365 Red Faced Duck, What kind of duck is this? He was the only one like this at the pond. He let me get within inches of him/her. I like the drop that is dripping off his bill.
