National Geographic put together a team to finally capture the entire tree. It took 126 images. Amazing results are here.

Such a magnificent tree. I read just last week how these trees are being hacked apart by drug addicts cutting burls out of the trees to support their habit.

Some, I know, make fun of some of us as tree huggers, but such magnificent trees need all the protection that we can give. We are but the caretakers of this planet and must protect it's most beautiful assets for all future generations to enjoy.
