It's amazing what you can do with just a little knowledge, eh? It just keeps getting better from there. Keep at it.

I doubt there's one of us here who doesn't have a handful of people who nudged us in the right direction as we've wandered down various paths in life. It would be a disservice to those people not to extend the same helping hand when we see anyone else wandering a bit. As the saying goes, now go and do likewise. I'm just thankful when anything I have to offer is in someway useful.

Day 68

Full on day of photography today with a heap of variety. Will process and post the OK ones some other time - just too tired to do much tonight

Here is a small sample:

The entire day was about changing lenses and settings to shoot a variety of shots. All quite tiring after 10 hours of it!
Great fun though and a great learning curve especially trying to focus and snap boisterous dogs ...

Day 69

Quick one today as I want to play with Elements 11 later.
While I am doing that you lot can have a slice of my Gluten Free Bread. The best looking loaf I have managed so far but won't know what it tastes like till it has cooled down.
This is about my 5th recipe to improve from the taste of cardboard.

And remember to ALWAYS look at things from a photographer's point of view!

Sort of like Rice cakes. I have a cousin that just found out that he had to go on a Gluten free diet. His wife is the best cook in the world. I will see if she has found a bread recipe yet. This is her Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/pages/Made-with-love-by-Sonya-Home-made-baked-goods/288228867865054

Love that last shot!

oh....and good luck on the gluten free bread recipe. If you get it down let me know. My gf just went gluten free. Which means.....that when I am with her I am gluten free! All the breads we have tried are horrid. And I mean that with every bit of my heart.

Doug. I am not kidding you we just cut this one open and it is as good, if not better, than any bread I have ever had. I am absolutely amazed at the result. It is made from a bread mix we bought in a shop. If you can get it I highly recommend you try it.
Here is the link to the local online supplier - I am sure you will be able to find it over there.

Alrighty! Its soooo delicious. And most simple bread ever (a little expensive but it last for a while).

Ingredients

100 grams of pumpkin seeds
100 grams of sunflower seeds
100 grams of almonds
100 grams of walnuts
100 grams of linseed
100 grams of sesame seeds

5 eggs
1 cup extra virgin olive oil (1 cup = 1 deciliter, right?)
2 tsp salt

Method

Important - don't mix the oil in before last step
Mix all other ingredients together in a bowl
Then stir in the oil, make it blend with the eggs
Bake for one hour at 160 degrees in the middle of (preheated oven)
Let the bread stand for 2-4 min in the mold

Done. Bon appetite :)

???? So what bakes then? Something missing here methinks.

That looks like a recipe for a very seedy/nutty scrambled eggs done in the oven ;)

It's not that I don't trust you ….
to me mixing those ingredients wouldn't make any bread at all. I would have thought that any bread would have needed some sort of grain.
This might be a faux Rye bread?
I'd be interested to see a photo of the finished product so would you mind posting one next time you bake it?
If you remember of course. :)

Don't you have to grind up the nuts into a flour? And where is the rye? I too, am confused. Maybe it is one of those secret Viking things. Yes, let us see a picture.

Day 70

Ted showed some photos using his 35mm 1.8 so I whipped my 35mm out and took a few with it today. Had forgotten how cool the DoF is.
Note to self: *must use this lens more often*
