Re: Bird in Flight

This really belongs in the Almost thread, I suppose. This hummer was way across the nursery and doing a crazy erratic flying dance. I tried to keep up, but got nothing but blurry smudges, except for this one, which explained his actions -- catching gnats for breakfast.

Re: Bird in Flight

We now have two red shoulders hanging around with a lot of courtship cries and zooming from tree to tree. I was supposed to be pruning out my mother vines, so only got some hasty shots.

Re: Bird in Flight

I don't do many bird in flight as I am horrible at it but this is the closest I will ever get to getting a Blue-gray Gnatcatcher in flight!

Catbird

Neither of these is of very good quality but I will take what I can get...

Re: Bird in Flight

Our red shoulder was having a nice rest in the sun, minding his own business, when a pair of rufous hummingbirds started dive bombing him. He finally had enough and did a nice wheel out of the euc to go hunt up some lunch.
