Hmm...perhaps this will lead to a future Lightroom Tutorial thread! Something along the lines of members who have done Lightroom only edits can post a photo and tell which sliders and settings were used. ;)

Not a bad idea. You would need to start with a before and after copy, which is actually very easy to do in LR because if you forget the BEFORE then just make a virtual copy of your edited version and then reset the edits.

What I think might be interesting is to make a RAW file available to everyone and ask them to do their own LR edits and post the results, methodology and settings. I have some "almost" type shots that I can cull through and maybe put something up next week.

2014-032:

Lovely morning along the Musconetcong River in Changewater, NJ. I went down to try and capture what's left of the train trestle that was there (a series of rather high, monolithic stone structures), but got more enamored with the frozen formations along the quick moving river. There's more than this, but this is my favorite, and I'm in the middle of prepping the house for a gathering tomorrow.

Mmmm...very pretty! :) Did you use an ND filter, and if so, was it your 10-stop?

Excellent Jake... I need to try that in the next week or 2 down at the Souhegan river (I have taken pics there before..)

A couple more from today. Snow, slippery slopes and stray branches kept me from getting some of the angles I wanted. Bad enough that most of these were shot from a one lane bridge with traffic coming blindly onto it from both directions. Yellow jacket and red cap helps. :)

Very nice shots Jake. I just love the clarity and shutter speed you selected. Just the right amount of water movement.

Really nice images, Jake! :) Those frozen droplets remind me of a dresser scarf that my grandmother used. It had small pom-poms dangling from the edges! ;)

I literally laughed out loud at that comment! ;) And just so you know, you're killing me here with your photos--by giving me the I want acquisition syndrome. Do you know what I mean? I look at your photos and say to myself, I want a _______. Well, I just ordered a 6 stop neutral density filter to get me started on slowing down water. :cool: One would have been helpful in the waterfalls shots I took last summer and fall.
