Starting out with more sunsets. I hope it's not too much.

I went wild tonight over about 20 minutes, standing on a bridge with traffic whizzing by fast. A lot of work yet to be done to the files because of overhead power lines in the images.

Hopefully, I'll be able to post more later.

And I'm running out of time!!

And I was just about to post a warning to you that you had about seven minutes to post tonight's image. However, if I read the rules correctly, you don't have to post an image every day, on time, just as long as you took a photo each day and posted it with its respective date in the post.

That's the way I read it, too. You have to shoot each day, but not post. Don't forget that out west of the Apalachicola River, we're on Central Time. Thanks for the craniums up, though! Today was a whirlwind.

Photo taken; photo posted; I'm going to bed.

A B&W of an abandoned house near where I work. I kept and enhanced the color of the blue front door.

Thanks Don. I was going to pass on it until I noticed the door. A co-worker/source told me about it, thinking it might make a good photo subject. The cosmetics are really what's gone. The yard is unkept, most of the shutters are falling off or removed, and the window blinds seem to be falling down. The front windows, however, seem to be in good repair. It has a swimming pool out back, according to my source, but it is only partially filled with putrid water. He says it's a health hazard, but it hasn't been condemned. It is a fair-sized house, at a bit over 4200 square feet of heated/cooled floor area. It's been this way for quite a while.

Apparently, the taxes on the place are paid up by the owner, and it isn't listed for sale. Oh, and it's waterfront property on a very large lot, as well. I wonder what is going on with the place. My first three guesses are either the owner is in poor health and can't tend to the place, the place is in a custody dispute, or the owner is "unavailable" to live there.

They're all out of snow blowers here in the Florida panhandle. Besides where would I store it between uses?

Nikonites-29-1.jpg

And I'm not in a hurry to chisel the ice off of my glazed car.

Go ahead and laugh, but a lot of our roads are closed down, since there are so many ice-encrusted bridges. I have to traverse three to get to work, so I'm at home for the day.

Marilynne, I started a snow in Florida thread last night, but I'll look for other "snow" threads. One of my coworkers said he has so much snow and ice that he can't see the grass in his yard at all.

That vicious frost was about 1/2 inch of ice, but we're doing just fine. A lot of roads still closed down due to ice. Stuff that wouldn't have stopped us a bit when I lived in North Dakota, but I am so over that that this is as cold as I ever want to see again.

On the good side, I don't have to be at work until noon tomorrow and I can sleep in. :applouse:

Most side roads in the city are still a sheet of ice. They never see a plow.....so it gets a lot of melt and refreeze.

And I start work at 3pm....so I sleep in al the time!

I know what you mean about melt and refreeze. That would happen in ND in the fall and spring. Then the wind would blow so hard that you had to watch out to not stop on ice or it would blow your vehicle off of the ice. What city are you in? My brother lives in Cincy, and I've visited there and Dayton.
