I have two of them (want to get a third one). Extremely happy with them. I use the Cyber Commander to control them. Excellent flexibility. I use the soft silver PLM umbrellas with diffusion fabric and will probably add a couple of Paul Buff softboxes this year.

I've done quite a bit of research & have received a lot of inputs from the members here as well..
you can't really go wrong with these lights..
best bang for the buck..
i had to hold off cos there's support non existent anywhere apart from USA..
i think they have retail centers now in UK & Australia..

good luck!

Heard the Mola 28 inch dish is the modifier to get..
Depends on what you are trying to do. I assume the Mola is a beauty dish reflector. Do they make a diffusion fabric for it. Paul Buff makes 22" beauty dishes, white or bright silver that come with diffusion socks. Just looked up the Mola reflector on B&H. Those are freakin expensive. I would start with the $80 Paul Buff ones. There's a problem when the reflector costs more than the strobe.

Now I am a little confused since you mentioned on the other thread that you really wanted the other stuff.

I really want the new Profoto B1 500ws air ttl..But it cost 2k...Big $ Then the air remote is $400...Ouch..I don't have any soft boxes at this time..Just a Photoflex 72 inch white shoot through...This new light is perfect for location shooting, and has a led modeling lamp..Amazon.com: Profoto B1 500 AirTTL Battery Powered Flash: Camera & Photo

There are plenty of discussions on this thread that whilelight started.

Ok. Good choice.

Depending on your budget, you can probably go for the medium octobox and medium "rectangular" soft box. They are easier to assemble and disassemble. You'll know what I mean once you get them. I also have the 7" reflector and an umbrella if I want to go light. I have the 22 inch beauty dish also. Just be carefull about the shipping since that could cost a couple of hundreds.

If you want to go portable, you can add the vagabond.

It would only cost $20 to ship the 28inch Mola setti dish to my house..:p
Would consider the Mola Demi as well(22 inch) half the price..Gonna order the strobe first tomorrow.. @ Steve B
They do have the sock, grids, etc for these..

Shipping in the US via UPS is cheaper. I can only get their products via USPS Priority mail since I live overseas and it is much more expensive due to the bulk of the boxes.

IMO the 28" Mola is overkill @ $610.

27" Impact @ $140 plus the speedring @ $25.

I appreciate that..But for the direction Im going..I need the best..Mola is the Top of the line..Its not just the diameter, but the deepness and shape of the Mola 28inch that puts off a light throw like no other..All the top Fashion Photogs use them for that reason..The white finish is like porcelain..BD Porn...

That just doesn't make any sense about the price for the Mola. It might be just a luxury item for beauty dish but I think it's plain nuts if someone buy that product. To each is own I guess.

The Paul C Buff 22" dish doesn't need any adaptor and it is pretty much stright forward plug and play type.

It works pretty well for my use.

Sometimes you just continue to confuse me. I can't tell if you are on a budget or if you are trying to bite more than you can chew on what you want to get. I just don't follow your rationale when it comes to smart buying.

FWIW, I have a cousin who is also a pro photographer in the US. Google him "Drew Santos". He uses all PCB products. He has shot for FHM, muscle magazine and playboy. He is one of the top 5 glamour / fashion photographers within the last 3 years as his credentials. He was the one who recommended PCB to me.

I do like to smart buy..I do a lot of research on anything I buy..Im sure somethings are over-rated and over-priced..I read reviews after reviews from owners...I think paying $2400 for the Nikon 70mm-200mm 2.8 vr2 is nuts..But I want one..lol I see your point, but at the same time you have some very expensive gear as well..So a $600 Mola should not be that big of a deal..Like I said before,im going back and forth between the 22inch Mola Demi and 28inch Mola Setti..It is a $300 difference...The setti's cons are its weight..No other cons..Twice as many people have bought the Demi(22inch) and are very happy with it..
